SAP BI/SAP HANA – Work Stream Process
Page 6
“What questions do you need to answer?” instead of asking, “What reports do you
want?” Goal is to consolidate information needs vs. purely create reports.
1. Create 4 Work Streams – Executive, Sales, Supply Chain, and Finance
2. Document questions first – JAD Approach
3. List data needed to answer the questions
4. Define calculations
5. Review all questions and data elements with Executive team for approval and validation
6. Create Report Functional Specification and obtain sign-off before work begins
7. Investigate and review HOW we implement the information. What tools do we use to display the data.
8. Create a plan for the 4 main streams
9. Execute the plan
10.Train End Users
