Introduction
Goal and objectives of the e-waste tool
Provide governments of the E-waste calculation tool with data
Easy to use
Use tool to send data to the Global E-waste Statistics Partnership. Data will be used in next Global E-waste Monitor
3
IntroductionMethodology
The ”E-waste calculation tool" is an integral part of the e-waste statistics methods
Assists in the calculation of the quantity of E-waste statistics weight for each country

DB
Data from UNU estimates
Customised for each country in the world. Pre-filled with data:
Sales
Lifespans
e-waste generated
Data available from 1995 to 2015

Entering data in the Calculations tool
Put on Market (sales)
Options to select different classifications:
1. EU-6 categories: 6 categories
2. EU-10 categories: 10 categories
3. UNU categories: 54 categories

Lifespan graphs
The sheet “GraphLifespan” provides a graphical representation of the lifespan of a selected product group per UNU-KEY.
After selecting an UNU-KEY and a reference year in the corresponding dropdown the graphs will show the percentages of WEEE generated.
The average lifespan is also shown.
15
Modify data
Need to press “show sheets”
You can modify lifespans directly in the sheet of lifespans
Entering data in the Calculations tool
Imports of E-waste / U-EEE – fill in direct in the sheet

Calculate WEEE Generated (WG)
Once the user has entered into the tool the POM data for a year of reference, the tool can calculate the quantity of WEEE
generated.
14
Export Results
By pressing the button, a new spreadsheet will be created named “Result.xlsx”. This spreadsheet will be saved in the same directory were the WEEE calculation tool is stored.
The following sheets will be exported:
1. Indicators2. ResultPOM3. ResultCOL4. ResultIMP5. ResultEXP6. ResultWG7. GraphPOM_EU108. GraphWG_EU69. GraphWG_EU10
10. GraphPOM_EU611. GraphCOL_EU612. GraphCOL_EU1013. GraphIMP_EU614. GraphIMP_EU1015. GraphEXP_EU616. GraphEXP_EU1017. Graph POM vs. WG
