Tappits
TappitsTools/Supplies Needed:
• Tappits• Edible Black Pen• Brush • Rolling pin• Fondant• Tylo Powder• Edible Glue• Metallic Silver Paint• Cornflour
TappitsMaking Gumpaste:
• Place 1 tsp of Tylo powder on the table and knead the fondant over the powder.
• Knead till the powder is gone and leave in a zip lock bag for a min of 30min.
TappitsUsing the tappits:
• Roll the gumpaste out to approx 1 mm thick if its too thick it will stick in the cutter.
• Leave it on the table for a min or so to dry out the top of the gumpaste slightly.
TappitsUsing the tappits:
• Place the tappit over the paste, press down firmly ad wiggle it on the table to cut out the shape.
• Repeat the process and cut out all the shapes.
TappitsUsing the tappits:
• Turn the tappit over the other way and give it a good tap on the side of the table and the decorations should just pop out.
• If one end is stuck, use a toothpick and gentle pull it out.
• At this stage you can leave these to dry or glue them directly onto your cake, cookie etc.
TappitsPainting the decorations:
• Using a fine brush and some silver metallic paint, you can either pain the whole or parts of the decoration.
TappitsUsing the alphabet tappits :
• All tappits are used exactly the same way.
• Roll out your paste, cut out the decoration, tap on the table and the decoration will pop out.
TappitsUsing the alphabet tappits :
• You can cut out all the letters in one go.
• Just place the tappit over a strip of gumpaste, press down evenly, give it a good wiggle and tap them all out at the same time.
• These can be stored indefinitely as long as they are completely dry.
