Are you Maximising Your Business Profile?

• Have you selected the ‘best’ business categories? – Opportunity Search → Advance search → Business

categories– Can select up to 10, plus another 10 if you are in construction – Some construction categories are appropriate for all businesses

• Site-wide services – Administration section• Couriers, Furniture and office equipment, Stationery, Photocopier

Supply and/or Maintenance, Computers / IT supply, Telephone and Fax Equipment ,Office Cleaning, Data management, Reprographics, Photography, Protective equipment / PPE

• Email Alerts – once published, set up your email preferences to be kept informed of new Opportunities that match your Business Categories. Select  Email Alerts from the left hand menu to set your preferences

How to use CompeteFor to find information?

• You can use CompeteFor to search for:

– Contracts being advertised– Contracts that have been awarded – Find out which companies have been shortlisted – Other suppliers (and/or competitors) – Search for partners

• You can ‘track’ contracts as they are advertised and awarded – use the ‘My Tracked Opportunities’ function

Top tips – using CompeteFor

• Answer honestly to the question

• Have case studies available for submission

• Have references ready to provide

• Maximise your business profile – include as much detail as possible – description, core capabilities, pictures

• Publish profile and activate appropriate alerts (all categories)

• Check the system regularly

Top tips

• Be proactive and consider some of the facts that are especially relevant to London 2012 i.e. sustainability, disposal requirements, bespoke nature of services etc

• Read the 'description' carefully and make sure you understand the brief and be sure that your organisation is capable of meeting the requirements

• Provide factual and complete answers to all relevant questions

• Follow the instructions including requests for additional information often included when opportunities are published

• Provide all information within the timescales. Do not miss key deadlines
