Data protection Act 1998The Data Protection Act was developed to give protection and lay down rules about how data about people can be used.

The 1998 Act covers information or data stored on a computer or an organised paper filing system about living people.

Computer Misuse Act in 1990

With more and more organisations using computers to store and process personal information there was a danger the information could be misused or get into the wrong hands. A number of concerns arose:

Who could access this information?

How accurate was the information?

Could it be easily copied?

Was it possible to store information about a person without the individual’s knowledge or permission?

Was a record kept of any changes made to information?

Copyright Act 1988When you buy software, for example, copyright law forbids you from:

• giving a copy to a friend

• making a copy and then selling it

• using the software on a network (unless the licence allows it)

• renting the software without the permission of the copyright holder

The law that governs copyright in the UK is called the Copyright, Designs and Patents Act 1988.

You must provide a safe and healthy environment for all your employees and take their welfare needs into account. However, this doesn't have to be complicated or time-consuming. Order goods in your name. Take over your existing accounts. Take out mobile phone contracts.

Obtain genuine documents such as passports and driving licences in your name.

computer

Have a comfortable and proper chair while your are on the computer Make sure that your computer is protected

Don’t be too close to the computer in case if the computer get electrical accident so you can escape while moving your chair easily without be injured.

You can also get eye problem while spending a hours on it.

You could loose money from these people as they may steal information from your computer including bank details.

This could lead to a great deal of emotional stress and anxiety
