How to Sing Louder Without Much Effort

Are you interested in singing louder? Many people sing very softly. They don’t understand that when you sing louder, you can really see what your vocal chords are capable of doing. It is relatively easy to learn how to sing louder if you get good advice.

1. Good Breathing Support

If you want to be able to sing louder, you need to focus on controlling your breathing so it can support your singing. When you breathe correctly, you can get more volume in your singing.

2. Make Your Vocal Chords Work Together

In order to get the best sound out of your vocal chords, they have to work together. When you learn how to sing louder, you will get your vocal chords to do just that. Without your vocal chords working together, you will have a winded sounding voice that does not let you use your breathing support.

To start learning how to sing louder, sing the same note for four counts and then go up to the next note and the next while focusing on singing loudly and clearly. Record yourself doing this and play it back so you can hear how your voice sounds. If you did it right, it will sound good but if you hear your voice breaking and it doesn’t sound good, you overdid the loud singing. Keep practicing this technique until you can sing loudly but pleasantly and then work on lowering your volume step by step.

3. Work on Improving the Resonance of Your Voice

When you are trying to learn how to sing louder, you have to work on mastering your voice quality. Voice quality is how your voice resonates in your throat, mouth, and nasal cavities. Try humming a single note with your jaw open and lips apart then hum again. You can hear the noise you are making and feel your face vibrating. This is referred to as singing in the mask.

4. Open Your Mouth

Once you master resonance, you should keep practicing the technique again and again. Hum a note for a few counts and open your mouth up so you make a sound like "ahh". Sing with your face in this position and maintain the sound you are making. The humming sound is just to show you how you should feel so eventually you will be able to sing better on your own.

When you are learning how to sing louder you will have to experiment with songs that are not very sophisticated so you can hum while you sing. If you have trouble with this, try keeping the same note during the song and then sing it again and again. Try humming after that and see if it gets easier for you.
