How to create a Google Alert
Google Alerts are a hugely useful feature of Google, where you can receive an email alert of the latest relevant Google results of
a certain keyword.
Why set up an Alert?
Set up Google Alerts about your industry and expertise to keep up to date on breaking
information.
I use these alerts to make sure I am the first to know new developments in my field.
I also use Google Alerts for Clients! It is a quick and easy way to stay updated on a
clients industry and interests.
To to set up a Google alert, start by going to…
A blank alert first looks like this. You can make multiple,
so choose a “Search query” or keyword that is specific
enough to give you useful information.
After you have selected your keyword, you can narrow
your results to the type of information you wish to
receive.
Select “How Often” you would like to receive updates, as they
can come once a day, or once a week. Also select ‘How
many”, I suggest choosing “Only the best results”.
Lastly select the email which you want to receive the update.
When you
receive an
Google alert to
you inbox, it
looks like this!
Use Google Alert as a resource and to stay on top of important updates in
your industry.
