Heterogeneous Systems Architecture (HSA)An AMD exclusiveEnd consumer• HSA enables an immersive user experience with more efficient

app performance and superior image quality.

• Innovative HSA-enabled processors are designed to enable the pixel-perfect-picture experience on the latest, most popular computing devices.

• Up to 32GB of shared memory.

• Performance, programmability, portability, power efficiency.

Developer• hUMA is designed to improve the performance and efficiency of

the processor by enabling the CPU and the GPU to seamlessly share data. It also allows for easier GPU acceleration using familiar programming languages, which can result in significantly lower development costs for the creation of accelerated applications.

• Heterogeneous queuing helps to reduce latency within the APU and is the key to unlocking the full potential of the APU, resulting in higher levels of performance and power efficiency.

• hQ transforms the current processor ‘master/slave’ architecture of the APU and turns it into ‘all processors equal’ type of design.

Focal points

• These customers primarily care about a system that delivers performance, which they equate as cores + frequency. This is predominately measured through gaming performance and overclockability.

• The AMD A10-7850K APU has 12 compute cores (4 CPU cores + 8 GPU cores)1 featuring Radeon™ R7 graphics for revolutionary, responsive computing and next-generation gaming.

• Make more with AMD – you can sell AMD Radeon™ DDR3 2400 memory at a higher margin.

The conversation

• Talk about how versatile the overclocking capabilities are, that both the CPU and GPU can be overclocked.8

• Tell them that when they buy an APU they are getting a product that is designed to last.

1. AMD defines a “Radeon Core” as one Shader/Shader Array. The term “GPU Core” is an evolution of the term “Radeon Core”. “GPU Core” is defined as having 4 SIMDS each comprising of 64 Shaders/Shader Arrays. For example, 512 “Radeon Cores” equals 8 “GPU Cores“ (8 GPU Cores x 4 SIMDs x 16 Shader Arrays = 512 Radeon Cores). Visit www.amd.com/computecores for more information.

2. AMD TrueAudio technology is offered by select AMD Radeon™ R9 and R7 200 Series GPUs and select AMD A-Series APUs and is designed to improve acoustic realism. Requires enabled game or application. Not all audio equipment supports all audio effects; additional audio equipment may be required for some audio effects. Not all products feature all technologies—check with your component or system manufacturer for specific capabilities.

3. AMD Memory is manufactured and warranted by third parties. AMD, the AMD logo, Radeon, and the Radeon logo are used under license. AMD Memory is designed and tested to work with AMD platforms and components but may not be supported on all chipsets and processors developed by other manufacturers - check with your component or system manufacturer to ensure AMD Memory is compatible with a specific system model or platform. Visit www.amd.com for a list of AMD Memory vendors.

4. The GCN Architecture and its associated features (AMD Enduro™, AMD ZeroCore Power technology, DDM Audio, and 28nm production) are exclusive to the AMD Radeon™ HD 7700M, HD 7800M and HD 7900M Series Graphics and select AMD A-Series APUs. Not all technologies are supported in all system configurations—check with your system manufacturer for specific model capabilities.

5. Mantle application support is required.

6. Testing by AMD Performance labs using 3DMark Fire Strike, PCMark 8 as of July 2014. AMD A10-7850K with Radeon™ R7 Series Graphics, 2x4GB DDR3-2133, 256GB non-rotating SSD, Catalyst 13.35, Windows 8.1 64bit, PC Mark 8 Home Score 3480. 3D Mark Firestrike Score 1505.
