Ways to Save

Water

By Ms Trad

Page 2: How to Save Water

Australia does not get much rain so

it is very important to help save

water.

Do you leave the tap running when

you clean your teeth?

Page 3: How to Save Water

It is better to turn off the tap.

Rinse your mouth with a cup of

water instead because a running tap

wastes a lot of water.

Page 4: How to Save Water

On hot days we all like to drink lots

of water.

It is good to keep jugs and bottles of

water in the fridge.

Page 5: How to Save Water

This is a faster way to get cool water

than by running the tap.

It also saves water from going down

the drain.

When it’s time to clean the car don’t

use a hose.

Use a bucket of soapy water first.

Then use the hose to rinse.

Did you know that some people stay

a long time in the shower?

This uses a lot of water. It is better

to take quick showers.

Page 8: How to Save Water

A quick shower means a short

shower.

A quick shower also uses less water

than filling the bath.

When watering the garden it is best

to do it in the morning and in the

evening.

This is when it is cool. Otherwise the

sun will evaporate the water.

A washing machine and dishwasher

both use lots of water.

So it is best to fill them before you

use them.

Page 11: How to Save Water

Only run them when they full.

This will save lots of water.

Page 12: How to Save Water

If you wash the dishes by hand this

uses less water than the dishwasher.

It is best to put the plug in first.

Then fill the sink with water.
