  • How to protect the parcel from damage?Shipping Tips

  • •The sender is obligated to pack the parcel in such a

way as to protect its contents, other parcels and

    workers handling the parcel

    •Adequate packaging includes a five-layer cardboard

for the outer packaging and internal fillings

    • The packaging of the parcel should ensure that no

one can see the content of the parcel without tearing

    the packaging

The carefully and professionally packaged goods ensure that the

delivered parcel is suitable for parcel handling technology

  • The following can serve as fillings on the inside the parcel: foil, bubble wrap, nylon, airbags, sponge, styrofoam, etc..

    An adequately packaged parcel has:

    Impact resistance

The power of impact equals free

fall from 1 meter in height

    Pressure resistance

    Pressure proportional to your

    own fivefold weight

    Vibration resistance

    Moving across the

    conveyor belt leads to vibrations

  • Choose quality

A quality box preserves the product better. If you use an old cardboard packaging,

make sure that it is still robust enough to protect the goods – five-fold cardboard is the best choice

The strength of the box is especially important for

    parcels of bigger weight!

  • Empty space fill

Choose boxes of adequate size for the parcel content. Fill the empty space in the box with fillings

    - make sure that the content cannot move inside the box

In a box without fillings, individual items will collide and damage!

  • Weight of the parcel

Please make sure that the packaging you choose corresponds to the weight of the goods.

Protect the parcel so that it can withstand pressure proportional to its own five-fold weight.

  • Tape the parcel well

High-quality adhesive tape and closing the box at all joints ensures the

parcel from opening in transport. Paste across the joints, to protect against

    unauthorized opening.

As additional insurance against the opening of the parcel, it is recommended to wrap the entire box with stretch foil.

  • Position of the address label

Paste the address label onto the largest side of the parcel.Unglue any stickers that are no longer in use!

  • Five-fold cardboard

    Styrofoam protection

    Extras

    Electronic devices Bottles and liquids

    Five-fold cardboard

    Styrofoam protection with

    separate cells for each bottle

Put the electronic devices in a separate box, fill it well with

corresponding filling and ensure that the content of the

parcel can’t move inside of the box during transport.

If you send liquids, creams, oils etc.. Make sure you first pack them in an

impermeable bag, nylon, bubble wrap etc..so that even if the parcel gets

damaged, the leaked content would not damage the rest of the contents of

    the parcel or other parcels.

Wine bottles and other products in glass packaging should be placed in

boxes designed for bottles with a solid styrofoam (or expanded polystyrene)

of approximately 3 and more centimeters.

  • Car tyres

    Board-like materials

Car tyres can be transported without packaging. One unit

(parcel) must not contain more than two tyres.

Tyres should be fastened in an adequate manner, ensuring

that they will remain connected as a whole the entire

transport and in such a way that the parcel sticker can be

adequately pasted. The best choice for connecting the tyres

    is stretch foil.

Board-like materials should be packed in thick cardboard,

with edges and corners extra protected so that they don’t get

    damaged in transport.

Special handlingParcels containing a label or a sticker indicating fragile content or handling

the package cautiously will be handled by GLS Croatia with caution but the

application of the label "Fragile" does not exempt the sender from the

obligation to use the internal and external packaging which is appropriate for

    the type of packed goods

Inadequate packagingThe fact that GLS Croatia has taken the parcel for transfer and delivery does

not mean that the parcel is packed in accordance with the general terms and

    conditions.

GLS Croatia shall, with the prior consent of the sender and the previous

acceptance of the costs, charge the repacking of the parcel inadequate for

    further manipulation.

If repacking is not necessary the parcels will be sent on delivery, the fee for

manipulation of such parcels is charged per parcel according to the current

    price list.

  • GLS Croatia does not transport:• Hazardous goods can’t be transported even if

marked with an outer label for hazardous goods

    • If a product which is not subject to ADR (or another

designation of hazardous substances) is packaged

in a container bearing labels relating to ADR, the

    ADR labels must be removed.

    • If the ADR labels are not removed from the parcel,

the GLS will decide, based on the labels on the

parcel, whether to exclude the shipment
