How To Prepare Your Recycling Mixed Waste Paper Cardboard Tin & Plastics Glass Bottles & Jars Acceptable Materials - Cardstock, newspaper, cereal boxes, junk mail, gift wrap (non-foil), magazines, file folders, flyers, notices, paper egg cartons, printed paper, packing paper, paper bags (ex. shopping, flour or sugar bags), shredded paper, catalogues, envelopes and directories. Preparation - Place shredded paper in paper bags - Remove plastic liners - Include clean paper products only - Shred papers containing personal information Acceptable Materials - Corrugated cardboard only, pizza boxes (but with no inserts or food residue) Preparation - Flatten all cardboard - Remove food residue, liners and inserts from pizza boxes Acceptable Materials - Aluminum and tin cans, foil and foil plates, rigid plastic packaging, rigid plastic containers (ex. yogurt containers, shampoo/soap bottles, pill/vitamin bottles, cleaning product containers), clean plant pots, waxed cartons (ex. milk cartons) and clean plastic and metal lids. No soft plastics, styrofoam or glass Preparation - Clean containers and packaging only - Flatten materials whenever possible Acceptable Materials - Clean glass bottles and jars only. No broken glass, household glass (ex. wine glasses or cups), window panes, or picture frame glass Preparation - Rinse and clean bottls and jars (no food residue) - Remove lids, place in container for tin and plastics Don’t have a container for one of these products?
