Common platform for IDP’s

• Currently we have different networks but none of them are directly addressing the needs of International Degree Programmes

• Many times IDP’s are also run by terms of Finnish programmes in individual UAS

• There is a clear need to establish network that would be the voice and the actor on IDP’s behalf

• Right people – light structure – democratic process

Benefits

• We have to think globally – together we are strong! No point in spending scarce resources individually

• IDP demands are taken more seriously if we have a network and we speak with one strong voice

• More efficient information flow – best practices

• We have a lot to learn from each other – this also helps us to get ready for possible tuition fees

Communication

• Lots of great ideas could be shared with better communication – at the moment the annual IDP seminar is the only real place to meet

• Each UAS appoints one representative – faster communication and decision making

• Possibility of creating a web site – easily accessible relevant information, open discussion area

Joint Marketing

• Building a brand nationally and internationally – what kind of common images can be used?

• It makes a lot of sense to work together in this area – if every Degree Programme is willing to invest 2000 Euros for common budget we are talking about a fair amount of money (68 Degree Programmes so far)

• Marketing ”Study in English” in Finland and ”Study in Finland” abroad

• Long-term approach – where to concentrate?

Other areas

• Cooperation in other areas should be deepen as well – coming up with common rules and policies for students transferring to other UAS

• Designing new curriculums and exchanging information about good and working practices

• Producing entrance exams for Finland, Asia, Africa & elsewhere

Cooperation

• Close cooperation with other networks (Asia Network, Africa-network, Pinnet, CIMO etc.)

• Cooperation with National Board of Education

• Possibly organising entrance exams abroad in countries important for us (i.e. other than Asia & Africa)
