OBJECTIVES
• Language Arts 1. Write all upper and lower case letters of the
alphabet, using correct letter formation.2. Use complete sentences to write simple texts.3. Use basic capitalization and punctuation:
first word in a sentence. proper names. period to end declarative sentence. question mark to end interrogative sentence.

Step One
• Begin your sentence with a capital letter.
• Remember: ALL SENTENCES BEGIN WITH A CAPITAL LETTER!

Step Two
• Make sure the sentence has a noun.
• What is a noun? A noun tells who does the action. It can be a person, place, or thing.

Step Three
• Make sure the sentence has a verb.
• What is a verb? A verb tells what the noun is doing.
The man is playing a saxophone.

Step Four• Make sure the sentence
ends with punctuation.
• What is punctuation? A punctuation mark is what goes at the ending. It can be a period, question mark, or an exclamation point.

• Go back and make sure you began your sentence with a capital letter.

• There are three types of sentences.
• 1. Telling - tells you something
• 2. Asking - need information
• 3. Exciting – show emotion

Statement Sentences
• Telling sentences end with a period.
• This is a period (.).
• Remember, telling sentences always tells you something.

Question Sentences
• Asking sentences end with a question mark.
• This is a question mark (?).
• Remember, asking sentences always need information.

Exclamation Sentences
• Exciting sentences end with an exclamation point.
• This is an exclamation point (!).
