How to make KAHOOT

I. CREATING AN ACCOUNT

1. First of all, you have to create an account. To do it, go on https://getkahoot.com/

2. Click on: GET YOUR FREE ACCOUNT

3. Answer: What's your role?, choosing „I’m a teacher”:

4. Then, choose your username, write your email address, confirm it and make up your

password. At the end click on „Create your account”:

II.CREATING THE QUIZ

1. To make a quiz, click on a question mark „?”.

2. Give your quiz the title/name and click „Go!”:

3. You will see a frame with „Question 1”. Write your first question here and choose the time

limit, ranging from 5 to 120 sec (It’s on the right). From my point of view, 30 sec. is the best

choice.

4. If you want to add a picture/photo to your question, click on: ” Drag and drop an image from

your desktop here” or click on „choose a file” and browse (earlier you should prepare a

needed photo).

5. After that, write answers to your question (ANSWER 1, ANSWER 2, etc) indicating the correct

one and three incorrect ones. If you don’t need 4 answers, then click on minus „-„:

6. If you need more questions, click on plus „+”:

7. Then, click on „Add question” at the bottom of the page. Continue with your questions

repeating the procedure.

8. If you want to add a video to your question, click on „VIDEO”:

9. Now you are ready to choose a film from YouTube. After you’ve written your question, paste

the address of your video (ID). You can determine the second from which your video should

be played (START AT) and when it should be stopped (END AT). Don’t forget to determine the

right time for this question - TIME LIMIT (PLAYBACK LENGTH + 30S.). We finish by clicking on

SAVE AND CONTINUE.

10. Now you can change the order of the questions grabbing and dropping them to the

appropriate place (DRAG AND DROP). Confirm SAVE AND CONTINUE (on the bottom panel).

11. Set the language (LANGUAGE) and setting (public or private), select audience (primary

audience) - eg. School. Then, briefly describe your quiz (description), add tags and set the

level of difficulty by means of a slider. Confirm by clicking SAVE AND CONTINUE on the

bottom panel.

12. Add cover to your quiz - in the same way as the picture. Finish by clicking on „DONE”.

13. Now it’s high time to play your quiz with your students:

III.HOW TO PLAY YOUR KAHOOT.

1. Ask your students to go on www.kahoot.it on their tablets, mobile phones or computers.

2. On your computer click on PLAY NOW:

3. When you choose „Player vs Player” option, clicking on Classic, you’ll go on a page,

where your Game PIN will appear, e.g.:

4. Wait until all the players will log in (they can give their names as logins so that you know

who is who) and when you see all the players on the screen, you can display the first

question.

5. After students answer your first question, you will see their results (how many points

they have gained). A correct and fastest answer gains the most points.

6. Go to another question and continue until the end of your quiz.

7. You can also ask your students to eveluate your quiz „RATE THIS QUIZ” (Fun, Learning,

Recommend, Feeling).

8. Finally, you come to the final results. And here you can get a detailed summary of the

results of individual students in the form of EXCEL spreadsheet (click to download

RESULTS), which may serve you getting assessments summary for this task or simply

getting an overview of the progress of individuals.

9. Open the document EXCEL- Final scoreboard, where you can find detailed answers of

individual players. Now you know who you should pay attention to and how to plan

further work with the individuals.

10. When your students want to play in teams, they should choose the option on the right

„Team vs Team Shared Devices”, clicking on: „Team vs Team”.

11. Each team can share a phone, tablet or laptop. They give their nicknames and join the

game.
