How to make a hanging fish: by Annie Dotzauer Supplies • Markers (to draw on glass) • Scissors • Cutting tools • 1 sheet of clear glass • 2 smaller pieces of complimentary colors of glass or choose a color of spirit, or fusers reserve and choose a solid color within the spirit or fusers reserve. (About a half sheet of each) • Thin Fire paper • Glue • Some small 1/2” dicro scraps - (don’t buy it if you do not have it) • Optional - Black stringers (again- don’t buy if you do not have it) • Dots or scrap glass for embellishing • High fire wire • wire cutter How to make: 1. Cut the entire fish out from the clear piece of glass. 2. Cut out the tail as well from the clear glass. 3. Place the clear piece of glass over the pattern piece and score in the wavy lines. 4. Number the sections before breaking the sections apart. 5. Note: My sections on my example did not break on the score lines. Do not worry. Just use the unplanned piece as if that is where it was scored. Don’t worry about the score line that is left because it will be fused together. 6. Cut out the tail from clear and matching piece of glass that will fit on top of it. 7. Cut 11 pieces of high fire wire about 2” long each 8. Form each of them into a circle 9. Glue the and “sandwich the wire between the two pieces of matching glass. 10. Cut out your mouth and eye and glue on. 11. Now is the time for embellishments! Add frit, stringers, dots or scraps of glass to your fish. 12. Look on the back side of this document for pictures so you can remember how to put it together. 13. NOTE; I think it works better if you FULL FUSE the pieces after you have the high fire wire in-between the clear and chosen glass colors….. Then add embellishments and CONTOUR or TACK fuse. I was in a hurry to make mine for the tutorial sheet and full fused everything. I think it is better using two firings. 14. I have included a pattern on the last page. 15. Have fun!
