How to Integrate Your BrightTALK Channel(s) with
HubSpot
OverviewWHAT: BrightTALK can send registration and activity data to HubSpot on an hourly basis.
HOW IT WORKS: Using an integration platform, BrightTALK maps fields to your HubSpot and sends data through a REST API service.

Create & Map BrightTALK FieldsCreate and map BrightTALK fieldsWHAT: In order to send data to your HubSpot, our API will need to know where to send it. We use a combination of standard HubSpot fields and custom fields to store data.
WHY: BrightTALK offers marketers with a comprehensive data set to track webinar engagement, making custom fields essential in order to properly capture and manage this data in your HubSpot.
HOW: Download the following Google Doc containing a list of recommended fields and types to help you easily create them in your instance. Once created, populate column “D” with the field names in your HubSpot.

Create & Map BrightTALK FieldsSet up HubSpot WorkflowsWHAT: To accurately capture and track webinar activity, we recommend creating separate WorkFlows for each BrightTALK webinar in your channel.
HOW: Use the 6-digit “Webinar/Webcast ID” of the Webinar as the Enrollment Criteria. From there, you can use the WorkFlows to send leads to CRM campaigns and/or static lists depending on the use case.

Create & Map BrightTALK FieldsAuthenticate the API and TestWHAT: To initiate data transfer, the HubSpot Admin must authenticate the API with BrightTALK’s Integration platform, Bulkloader.
HOW: Send an email to [email protected] requesting “Bulkloader credentials” for HubSpot. Then follow the instructions in this video to authenticate HubSpot with Bulkloader.
Once this is complete, please send the completed mapping doc from Step 1 to support and they will assist with mapping the fields and testing the integration.

Other ConsiderationsFIELD TRANSFORMATIONS: BrightTALK uses pick list values for Country, State, Industry, Company Size, and Job Level. If your HubSpot setup requires any of these values to come through in a different format, fill in the second column of this document with the corresponding values.
