STEP 1: GST IMPLEMENTATION PROCESS
For implementing GST, go to Masters>>Ease of GST Adoption>>Activate
my GST
STEP 2: CONVERT IN GST
A screen will appear asking whether the Backup has been taken or not
before activating GST .
If backup is already been taken and the Challans has been converted
into the bills then Click on “CONVERT IN GST”. Else click on “CANCEL” and
take the backup of the company and convert the Challans into bills.
After that click on “Convert in
GST”
STEP 3: SEPARATE GST
FINANCIAL YEAR
After clicking on “Convert in GST”, two options will appear :
1. Separate Financial Year &
2. Convert GST in Same
Description of Separate Financial
Year
Marg Software recommends to create a new financial year & maintain
the data there itself at the time of implementing GST.
This will split financial year into two parts:
•1st April 2017 to 30th June 2017 (Modifications of VAT Bill)
•1st July 201731st March 2018 (Creation of GST Bill)
Benefit-User can forward the
modifications from old to new
financial year through Carry
Balance option.
This way both VAT & GST bills
can be generated.
STEP 4: GST CONVERSION
After clicking on “Separate Financial year”, a screen of “GST Conversion”
will appear where the following changes would be implemented:
• Creation of New GST Financial Year
• Defining GST No.
•Creation of GST Rates
•Change of Tax% & HSN Code &
• All OTHER CHANGES
related to GST
STEP 5: GST YEAR CREATION
After clicking “Convert in GST”, a new financial year window will appear
of 1st July 2017 to 31st March 2017 which is going to be created.
STEP 6: Change VAT Tax Masters
Name
In next step it changes the VAT Tax Masters Name and then Click on
“Ok”.
STEP 7: Create Default Tax Types
The software automatically creates Sale & Purchase Types according to
GST Tax Slabs i.e. 0%,5%,12%,18%,28%.
STEP 8: Create HSN/SAC Codes
Now, create HSN code as per your requirement & change all the VAT%
into GST.
In “More” option, you can create more HSN Codes & their respective
taxes by pressing F2 function key & define the GST rates from there.
STEP 9: Change Tax% & HSN Code in
Bulk on Basis of Old Tax
Now, the user can change all the old Tax % in Bulk into New GST %age by
merging it according to the old taxes.
For changing the tax %, press Enter and it will display the old tax %age.
Difference Calculator-F11 Key
Press F11 key for the difference calculator to find out the rate
You need to replace for the particular HSN code.
STEP 10: Change Product wise
Tax% & HSN Code
Now, there would be few items left in which the TAX %age has been
defined for e.g. as12% but the HSN Code for them is different.
Click “Ok” for changing the HSN Code of the items individually,

Mismatch List) on F8 Key
Tax mismatch b/w item master and HSN code, list will be generated to
modify the required changes
STEP 11: Change in Invoice Format
Marg software recommends not to change the format of the invoice. If the user
selects “Change in Existing Format” then same VAT invoice will get converted into GSTinvoice format.
if the user selects “Load New Format” then software will ask the selection of invoiceformat. If the user select “Don’tchange in existing format” thenno changes would be done.
If the user needs to print theHSN Code in the Invoiceformat then set this optionto “Yes” else select “No”.
If the user needs to print theHSN Code in short form then setthe option “HSN/SAC CodePrint in Short with Summaryin Footer” to “Yes” else theSoftware asks to define theCharacters.
