How to Find Engaging Content for Your Social Media Profiles
(A Feedly Tutorial)
Feedly is a news
aggregator
that brings all
the updates
from your
favorite blogs
to one place.
This tool is
useful when:
1. You need to
find content to
curate for
your social
media
profiles; and
2. When you
need to come
up with ideas
It’s so easy
to use!
First, you need
to sign up
for a Feedly
account.
For this
tutorial, I’m
going to use
an existing
Google account.
It’s much
quicker that
way.
Go to the Feedly
welcome page:
http://feedly.com/i/welcome
You will
see this:
Choose an
account.
Enter your
password.
Hit the sign-
in button.
You will
see this:
Click the allow
button.
Voila!
You’re in!
Here’s the
search box
You may either
enter the title
of the blog you
wish to follow.
You may also
enter its URL.
If you want to
look for a blog
in your niche,
you can enter
a keyword
preceded by a
hash tag (#).
Let’s say you
want to find
motivational
blogs.
Type
“#motivation”
in the search
bar.
Hit the
Enter key.
You’ll find
blogs on
motivation
as well as
related posts.
Click the
green cross
to add the item
to your reading
list.
You will
see this:
To create a new
collection,
click this:
Name your
collection and
click CREATE.
Your new
collection has
been created!
Let’s choose
another blog.
To add the blog
to the
motivation
collection,
You’ll see a
green circle
with a check
when it’s
been added.
The updates on
the blogs you
chose
will appear
in your
newsfeed.
You can find
interesting
blog posts
and other
types of
content.
Then, you
can share
the link
on your
social media
profiles.
Let’s say you
want to
include a blog
in your Feedly
news feed.
You can
click this:
You will
see this:
Add the URL
here and hit
ENTER:
You will
see this:
Again, click
the green
cross
to add the
item to your
reading list.
Add it to your
collection
by clicking the
name of the
collection:
See the green
circle with a
check mark?
It means that
the blog has
been
added to your
reading list.
