Administration - GenericAbout the course• The Bachelor of Science program in Hospitality and Hotel

Administration is offered jointly by the National Council for Hotel

Management and the Indira Gandhi National Open University. The

Three-Year (Six Semester) full time regular course equips students

with all the required skills, knowledge and attitude to efficiently

discharge supervisory responsibilities in the Hospitality sector. The

program also involves in-depth laboratory work for students to

acquire required knowledge and skill standards in the operational

areas of Food Production, Food & Beverage Service, Front Office

Operation and House Keeping. It also provides managerial inputs

in Hotel Accountancy, Food Safety & Quality, Human Resource

Management, Facility Planning, Financial Management, Strategic

Management, Tourism Marketing and Tourism Management.

• National Council for Hotel Management & Catering Technology

(NCHMCT) is an autonomous body under Ministry of Tourism,

Government of India. The Council centrally regulates academics

for B.Sc. Hospitality & Hotel Administration and eleven other

structured courses of study that are imparted at the 21 Central

Institutes of Hotel Management, 19 State Government institutes

and 14 institutes in the private sector.

B.Sc. in Hospitality and Hotel Administration - Specialization

• The 3 year BSc program in Hospitality & Hotel Administration with Specialisation (majors) is offered at select Institutes affiliated to the National Council for Hotel Management. For 20013-14 batch the course will be offered at Chennai, Goa, Kolkata and Mumbai. . Admission to the program is same as that for 3-year BSc. ie. through All India Joint Entrance Examination-JEE, in which the first three semesters are common to both the streams ie. Generic and Specialisation. In the forth semester, students who opt for specialisation are allotted their choice based on merit and marks scored by them in the semesters one and two.

• Specialisation scheme:

• There are three fields of specialisation offered in Semester IV, V and VI namely:

• 1. Food Production Management.

• 2. Food & Beverage Management.

• 3. Accommodation Management.

• Students of specialization are to undergo fourteen weeks of Practicum or Industrial Training after each semester as under:

• Practicum I: For four weeks after semester three in all the departments of a hotel;

• Practicum II: For six weeks after forth semester in department of specialization; and

• Practicum III: Four weeks after fifth semester in department of specialization.

• There is one elective each in semester five and six. From a list of 14 topics, students have to choose one elective in each semester. The program entails greater emphasis on self study, projects, guest lectures and research.

• No inter-change of Specialisation:

• While the first three semesters are common to the Generic and Specialisation stream of the three year BSc. program, limited seats are available for specialization which is offered from the fourth semester onwards. Once a stream is allocated, no change of specialization stream is permitted thereafter.

Filling the Application• Click the ‘Fill Application Form’ option

Register as New User• Register yourself as a new user, by clicking on the ‘New

Registration’ option.

Filling Process• Once you’ve clicked on the ‘New Registration’ option, you will reach a new page

that contain all information about “HOW TO FILL FORM & UPLOAD DOCUMENTS”.

Filling Process – Cont.• Kindly click on - I have downloaded Information Bulletin, read and

understood all the instructions., and click on „Click here to Proceed’.

Click here to move into filling the form.

Basic Details• Fill in all the details, along with setting up an easy password to remember,

and set an easy security question.

Form Submission• Fill all the details, and once you click on ‘Submit’ button, you will get the

following pop-up. , Click ‘Close Button’.

• Select the Options to prove that you have verified the right information in the

form. And click on “I Agree” and Click on – “Final Submit”

Continue Application• Click on ‘Complete Application Form’.

Filling in Details• Choose all the pending information and make sure you carry your 10th and

12th Certificates, while filling.

Cont.• After entering all the Academic details, kindly enter CAPCHA and

click on ‘Submit’.

Final Confirmation• Once after you click on the ‘SUBMIT’ button, you will get a confirmation

pop-up.

Upload Documents• Once you click on ‘OK’ – Confirm, you will reach the page to ‘Upload’ the

documents.

• Click on ‘Upload Images’ button.

Upload Cont.Please upload the following Scanned Files carefully in JPG format only.

1.Photograph: Size must be between 10KB to 200KB.

2.Signature: Size must be between 4KB to 30KB. – Choose the photo & Signature

Upload Confirmation• Click on – “Yes” on the pop-up.

Payment• A payment of INR 900/- has to be done as the fee.

• Click on ‘Pay Examination Fee’ button.

Choosing the Payment Mode• Choose the ‘Online Payment’, option.

Proceed to Payment• Select the ‘Payment Gateway’, option and click on ‘Proceed to

Payment’ option.

Click here to Make Payment

Payment Gateway• Once you click on Make payment, you will see the Payment gateway, where you can

choose the option suitable for you.

Form Completion• After the Payment, you will be getting the confirmation

for the completion of the form.
