Get 400+ Free Backlinks to Your Websites In my testing I believe the three most important components of getting traffic are: Keywords, Content, and Links. You can almost be guaranteed organic search engine traffic with the proper keyword research, writing original content, and building relevant inbound links. This is all about search engine positioning. One of the problems newcomers to online marketing face immediately is how to find and create worthwhile backlinks to their website properties. Building links is time consuming, and most certainly a boring task. The techniques described in this post are no exception to this, but I think you will find that the rewards are great, if you take the time to carry this out. There are a few basic reasons why this technique works. First off, few people will actually take the time to do this correctly because it is, quite honestly, a chore and most people are lazy. This means a small percentage of people are actually using this technique of building “vital links” from a long list of social networking sites . No doubt, you are probably not in the game, if you are not already applying the networking power and link building potential of the powerhouse sites that are well-known like Twitter, Facebook, and MySpace. However, there is a big reason why you should consider investing your time in joining as many of these other sites as possible. It is because Google, Yahoo!, and Bing are all reportedly placing a great deal of interest and value in the social network scene . These tend to be networks with large memberships, are well trafficked, and have high page rank…and this means instant traffic, instant ranking, and instant backlinks for you. These sites provide what is often referred to as “social proof” , and they will help your site gain trust in the search engines. While there is no way you can actually participate in all these social networking sites in a meaningful way, the goal here is simply to get a unique profile posted, with a focus of using targeted keywords and links pointing back to your websites and blogs. That being said, you should definitely want be an active contributor in many of your favorite social network sites, but also be aware that there are literally hundreds of other networking sites that you can easily join that will instantly give you a one-way backlink to your website or blog. Need proof of the power of these links? Here is an extract from the Google Review Manual that should give you a pretty clear picture: “…It is not uncommon today for individuals to maintain various types of personal pages on the Web. Homepages, social networking pages, and blogs have become increasingly popular. Some individuals have more than one blog and/or more than one homepage on a social networking site (e.g. MySpace, Facebook, Friendster, Mixi). When these pages are maintained by the individual (or an authorized representative of the individual), they are all considered to be Vital…” Now, we know that there are many hundreds, if not thousands of these type of sites. Potentially, you can even add to the list niche forums and all kinds of niche specific directories that are listed online, with new sites being launched all the time. Here comes the down side. Because of the time involved, you will have to do this over an extended period (or hire someone else to do this for you) and it will take a bit of review and research on you part. You need to find and use only those sites that have profile pages, and more importantly, permit you to insert a website or blog URL using a clickable link. I have been experimenting with this, and you can build an incredible number of vital links with valuable backlinks to your sites.

You can almost be guaranteed organic search engine traffic with the proper keyword research, writing original content, and building relevant inbound links.

It is because Google, Yahoo!, and Bing are all reportedly placing a great deal of interest and value in the social network scene. These tend to be networks with large memberships, are well trafficked, and have high page rank…and this means instant traffic, instant ranking, and instant backlinks for you. These sites provide what is often referred to as “social proof”, and they will help your site gain trust in the search engines.

Here is an extract from the Google Review Manual that should give you a pretty clear picture:

Now, we know that there are many hundreds, if not thousands of these type of sites.

Just remember, there is a dual purpose mission here, create instant vital backlinks to your sites, and potentially send direct traffic to your sites from the members in each site that you join. Just like Alex Jeffreys hammers home in his coaching program about Twitter, you do not want to use your account profiles to try and pimp or promote a product or service. Try to use these networks to sell…and you not only will quickly be ignored, but you also may be banned from using your account.

Think of social networking sites as a way to sell yourself, and then people will be more likely to visit your sites through the links you provide. Also, don’t send these valuable links to landing pages, or affiliate links. These should be links directed to a blog or an information site with value added content.

This is an ongoing process, and particularly with new sites you can’t and don’t want to build links too fast. That will only get you noticed by the search engines in a bad way. Take your time and build these vital links in a steady and consistent fashion. Your link building should also be from only related and relevant sites within your niche.

Be aware not to build any type of links in a way that would leave a large footprint for the search engines to rubber stamp as a link building scheme. This is also why it is probably not a such a good idea to use automated link building software. This is software that builds thousands of links from unrelated sites overnight.

Here are some other tips to apply when subscribing to social network sites. Bookmark each site and profile with only a few and different bookmarking services using a different set of broad phrases, descriptions, keywords, and tags. You also can cross link various sites in a random pattern, but always avoid reciprocal linking. This is similar to a link wheel, or a blog network, which will be defined and explained in a future posts.

You may note that it is not always easy to create a username and content that is related to your niche. Transparency seems to be the winning way today, so just create original content about yourself and use your real name (or variations of your name). You also should be creating your own personal branding, and profiles that attempt to use transactional keywords in profiles no longer work, and only will set off bells and whistles that more than likely make your profile considered spam.

So, you probably are wondering where to start. Here is a list of social media and network sites with descriptions compiled at Traffikd.com. This list is continually updated with new listings.
