Resin-based flooring
solutions are extremely
durable and when
properly installed offer
clients a seamless,
hardwearing and highly
resistant finish.

However, avoiding blemishes in the
finished surface - including bubbles
and blisters - requires careful
preparation and attention to detail.

Bubbles can either appear all over the floor
or in localised honeycomb clusters.

There are three main causes of bubbles
or blisters in resin flooring:
Air bubbles become trapped in the resin material during mixing and remain during cure
Moisture vapor transmission
Applying resin material onto a porous substrate

How can we prevent or eliminate the imperfections from forming?
@dr_flowcrete www.flowcrete.com
Ensure that the component products are
thoroughly distributed during the mixing
process using a slow helical spinner drill

Ensure the material is pre-formulated
to suit the weather and temperature
conditions at the time of installation

Avoid high temperature
or low temperature
conditions wherever possible

Ensure that porous substrates
are properly sealed and
primed to prevent outgassing

This includes filling
all cracks, holes
and dents prior to
installing the finish.

Typically polyurethane solutions offer
breathability on a moist or damp substrate…

Epoxy solutions do not and will require the
application moisture tolerant primer or a
damp proof membrane prior to installation.

Most importantly, ensure that
the resin flooring is installed
by highly skilled, highly trained
application teams recommended
by the manufacturer to ensure
