How to apply for incoming Study Abroad/Exchange program

First, go to our website to the Study Abroad section and click the “How to Apply” link.

2.)

Next, find your home institution in the list of programs provided. Make sure Program Type is listed as “Incoming”.

3.)

This will bring you to a new page where you can view information about Maynooth University. To begin an application, click “Apply Now”.

4.)

As a first time user select ‘No’ and press ‘Submit’.

5.)

Select “non-NUIM applicant” and submit.

6.)

Complete the information as requested and when finished press the “Create Account” button. You will receive an email to the address you provided containing a link and a temporary password.

7.)

Click the link in the email you received. Your email address will be your username and the email will contain a temporary password to login.

8.)

Complete the three security questions and then press “Update”.

9.)

Enter your new password and press “Change”.

10.)

Click on “View Programs”.

11.)

This will bring you back to the original page. As before, make sure the program type is “Incoming” and find and click on your home university or provider.

12.)

Click “Apply Now”.

13.)

Select which term you wish to study, and press “Apply”. For this example, we will choose “Full Year”.

14.)

Fill in the required information and “Save”.

15.)

This is the main application home page. You will be required to fill in a number of questionnaires, send electronic reference requests to professors/lecturers, complete some statutory declarations, etc. Signature Verification form: This needs to be printed out, signed, scanned and then uploaded along with a scanned copy of the photograph page of your passport. Material Submissions: These documents simply contain instructions on what is required for submitting copies of your English Language Exam results (if applicable) and official exam transcripts. Application Questionnaire(s) - 1 Visiting Student Application: Complete this application form to the best of your abilities. Remember you can save applications to be completed at a later time if you do not have all the required information and documents. Application Questionnaire(s) - 2 Module/Course Selection: Use this form to fill in what module/course selections you hope to take at MU. Please note this is not a guarantee of registration. Class registration only occurs once you are at Maynooth. Recommendations - Academic References: One academic reference is required. You have the option to upload a reference you already have within the Visiting Student Application, OR, in the next section you can request a reference. Click on ‘Request Electronic Recommendation’ and enter the contact details of your referee, who will be sent a short form to fill out about you. Recommendations - Sender institutions declaration: You must have permission from your home institution to partake in the Study Abroad program at MU. Enter the contact details of your Study Abroad coordinator who will confirm that permission has been granted for you to attend MU for the stated period.

Signature Documents: These declarations are mandatory and must be signed by the student. Failure to do so will mean your application will be declined. Please note:

The signature verification documents will remain ‘un-received’ for some time until the Study Abroad Coordinator at MU reviews each application and ticks as received. Please be patient for this to happen.

If you are having trouble logging in please double check that you have entered your email address as your username.

Once your online application is accepted by the MU International Office, you will receive a link

to begin your application for on-campus housing. You must complete a short form by June 12th and then wait to receive further instructions from the Residence Office which will be sent out the week of June 29th 2015.

You will receive an official offer letter via email as soon as possible after the May 31st deadline. Please be patient as we wait for student numbers to be allocated before we can issue the offer letters.
