Remove the case using the Case Removal Guide

T-10 Driver

There are several possible power-related symptoms covered in this guide. Their potential causes are covered from an advanced perspective here. For basic troubleshooting of the

most common electrical issues, refer to the Simple Electrical Check.

Burn marks, severed filament, or other signs of damage indicate blown fuse.

SYMPTOM:No power to the unit - display is dark.

Remove the case using the Case Removal guide.

Remove the fuse from the PCB.

Inspect the fuse carefully. Replace if the filament is damaged or if you see scorch marks.

OPTIONAL

OPTIONAL

Test the fuse using a multimeter. You should see continuity across it.

Inspect the circuit board for damaged components. In particular, inspect LF1 and LF2 for broken leads.

Ω

We use Resistance to check continuity.

SYMPTOM:Display is working but the motor does not engage

The Hopper Interlock is not engaged

Remove the case. Insert the hopper into the removed case and rotate clockwise.

Carefully push the interlock switch bracket towards the hopper.

If the interlock switch does engage when the bracket is pushed to the hopper, clamp and glue the bracket or replace the rear case.

There are several causes of this issue.

Safety Interlock Switch

Hopper leg engages switch.

Adjustment ring interlock is not engaged

Remove the adjustment assembly and check the microswitch arm.

If pressed manually, it should engage the safety interlock. You will hear a faint click.

If it does not engage the switch, follow our adjustment ring interlock switch replacement guide to replace the switch.

As a temporary solution, remove the adjustment ring. Apply tape to the shoulder of the adjustment ring.Add tape layers until the switch is engaged when the adjustment ring is rotated past 31.

SYMPTOM:Both interlocks are engaged – no power to the motor

Possible High VoltageCAUTION: The capacitor is normally discharged however it may retain a charge. Do not touch the exposed metal at the rear of the component.

ADVISORY

ADVISORY

This portion engages the safety interlock. Apply tape here until thick enough to engage switch.

Rotate the motor shaft with pliers. If the motor runs momentarily when the shaft is rotated, the motor has a dead pole and needs to be replaced.
