How to add an assessment dropbox

to myPLS

You have logged in, and your page will look something like this.

Click on the classes link above

Click on the class you want to add your assessment drop box to.

Step 1: Click on add

Step 2: Click on more

Step 3: The box like this one on the left should appear on your page

Step 4: Click on learning and you should see the options appearas shown here to the left.

Step 5: Click on Add on the link beside the Assignment Dropbox Option.

Your page should look some like this.

Next step: Click on New assignment

1. Add in the title of your assignment

2. Type in your instructions for the students to follow. i.e. click on the page link below to download your assessment task sheet and make sure you pay careful attention to the due date, etc..

If you have an assessment criteria sheetfor students to download, click here.

1. Find the assessment criteria sheet from your files on your computer and click on it.

2. Click Choose

Your assessment criteria sheet should appear here.If you have accidentally uploaded the wrong file, you can delete it and go through the steps again, to uploadthe correct file.

If you want to allow students the chanceto submit the assignment late, or more than once, click on either of these twoboxes.

Next Set your dates1. Set your assignment due date by clicking on the little calendar.2. Click on the date you want to be set as the due date for this task.3. Click on the time, if you want to change the time it is to be submitted by. E.g. 5.00 PM

Now repeat this step for the remaining two:That is: 1. Allocate from: The date you want students to be able to access the assignment cover sheet.2. Allocate until: The date until you want the students to be able to access the assignment.

Next: Add the students you wantto complete this assessment.

If you want just a few to completea particular assessment piece, youSimply just click on their names andThen click add.

If you want every student to completeThe assessment, just click add all.

The names you have added should nowappear here, something like this.

Finally, click on the “Create” button.

Your assignment is now on myPLS andyour students will see this assignmentwhen they login after the date you have set as a date for it to become visible.
