What Is EMV?

How is it more secure?
Microchip technology - The microchip technology assigns a “unique transaction number” which allows the merchant’s terminal to challenge the EMV card to prove that it’s authentic.
This makes it harder to counterfeit than a mag strip, and adds additional levels of authentication to the transaction process.
