Transcript of How magazines fit the needs of their target audience.
Example on how magazines fit the needs of their target audience: In this magazine cover you can tell that the genre is some type of rock. This immediately associates the magazine with people who listen to this type of music. The background colour is black which I believe is to add a type of darkness to the magazine which fits in with the genre. The magazine then has the rest of the magazine in bright colours to stand out but still have a type of the genre about them as they aren’t pretty colours. The magazine then has only one band on the cover, this is because they are obviously a very popular band who many of the target audience will be interested in so the magazine will sell just as well. They have also attracted the music lovers with the footer, which tells them they will get free music downloads. This will again attract the target audience. This magazine is a great example of how magazines
are about to fit the needs of their target audience.
What do I need to include in my magazine to appeal to my target audience to meet their needs?
Pretty photographs which will catch their eye
Gossip articles where they can find out the latest gossip about their favourite singers
Maybe a competition to win a shopping weekend away or a chance to meet one of the singers I include or even chances to go to concerts
News on the latest concerts coming up which surround that music genre
Maybe free high street vouchers?
Interviews with their favourite singers
