Concept: It is a multi-functional device to be used through the registration process. According to the conclusions derived from the research, the problems of the registration process are the involvement of the parents, the navigation problems and the absence of belonging to the university. As a group investigating the curriculum side of the registration process, we tried to create a device to solve all these problems in the best way possible. By using a system that directs the user to different places in the campus by pulling from their hand the device solves the problems in the navigation and involvement of the parent. At the end of the process users are combining the devices together by changing their shape. By this way with the combined afford of the newcomers, a sculpture is created and the feeling of unity and belonging is given to the newcomer. How it looks: The device is created by getting inspirations from the human brain. Therefore it has folds and curls in its shape. The user has the opportunity to change its shape freely and create a totally different composition. How it works: The device has a system of routing that works by interacting with the user. It is suitable for every kind of users meaning abled and disabled. The device works by the squeezing of the user. In the duration of the squeezing the device leads the user by pulling them with magnetism to the place they are supposed to be at. When the user stops squeezing the device, it ends the pull movement and gets to the waiting mood. In the waiting mood of the device, it changes colors to show which step comes next. Every step at the registration process has different colors suited to different tables of registration such as the table for bank, health center or dormitory management. While not

At the end of the process the device directs the user one last time to the center of the campus where the library and student center is. At that point, the device starts vibrating and the only way to stop this vibration is connecting the device to other devices of other newcomers by changing its shape. As the student makes a connection with another device, the device stops vibrating and this is when the registration process of one student ends.

At the end of the whole registration processes, there will be one big sculpture made out of the devices at the center of the campus which is the combined afford of the whole class of newcomers.

Therefore the feeling of unity and belonging is created and the registration process passes easily in a fun way.

Ideation:

In order to create a device that is going to make the registration process, we made a research to find out the problems in the ongoing process. After finding out the problems as the involvement of the parents, navigation complications and missing feeling of belonging to the university, we decided to take the brain as an inspiration. The device needs to solve all of the problems while adding fun and the feeling of belonging to the process. This is made by the directing function of the device. While the user is squeezing the device, the device directs the user to different places in the campus by the pulling action. These different places include the necessary places for the registration to be completed and also places such as the faculty building of the newcomer, student center, library and some other events made during the registration process in the campus. By this way the student not only completes the process without getting lost in the campus but also gets to know the campus and enjoys his/her time during the registration. The other function of the device where it changes its colors is to lead the student when not directing him/her with the pulling action. The user can identify the steps of the process by checking the color of the device with the colors of the steps. This shortens the duration of the process and makes it easier to follow the registration steps without having confusions.
