New music and photographic technology accelerated cultural diffusion and expanded global perspective. They allowed people to experience culture and events from other countries and have visible proof of events. Both the invention of film photography and the MP3 connected the people of the world, so they could experience what was happening in other countries.

Along with those who would say that the invention of digital photography had greater significance, some would say that the invention of phonographic records had a greater impact than the MP3. The Phonograph allowed listeners to hear music at home instead of live at an event.
