Previously in the making of my music video I produced two video looking at some research into my artist and music video.Here is a Wordle produced image with the genre answers:

Therefore after setting this research I based the music video, Digipak and Advert around this genre and produce products fitting for this.

My advert, I believe, is very attractive as it has is mainly black, white and grey apart from the bright red writing and certain parts of the photos which makes people focus on it and therefore should trigger an interest to check the album out. It also links back to the album name as using specific photos I have achieved a mirror effect.

My Digipak is a six section form of digipak and demonstrates the two sides of my artist personality through make-up and costume and this in turn reflects the album name “Seeking My Reflection”. The photos used have a simular sepia or grey effect to the photos apart from the cover photo which is more soft and bright coloured making it ‘eye-catching’ and attractive to perspective buyers.

I attempted to make my advert and digipak look as similar as possible using similar editing effects to make both products as linked as I possibly could. I used the same site: www.piknic.com to achieve the link between the two products. Most of my photos either have a grey or sepia look to them and this is because my music video seemed to have this effect as well.

COMPARSION

The previous slide was some of the biggest, albums and single from 2009. As you can see most of some of them are quite surreal and feature more pieces of art work than actual artist. However, the ones that do feature artist like Taylor Swift’s single cover have great similarities to mine. The soft lighting and expression make mine and Swift albums cover very accessible.

Furthermore, both my genre and the genre Swifts songs are mostly in are the same so I am glad that the image generated are very similar.

COM P ARSION

Only the Coldplay advert is of the same music genre as my video and only the Tinchy Strider advert really has any link to my advert with the simple yet bright colours.

I now understand that my advert is actually quite surreal and challenges many conventions of music video adverts, with its dark colouring and pictures.
