What is an interactive whiteboard?
To accommodate 21st Century
A large interactive display that connects to a computer and projector that projects the computers desktop on the board.
TIMELINE OF INNOVATION
• 1992 SMART technologies paired with the Intel coorporation.
• By 2000 school had begun to discover how helpful SMART boards can be in a classrom
• 2001 Response Devices (Activote) with the Interactive Whiteboard and associated software
• 2007: Promethean Planet• 2009 ActivInspire was launched
Benefits of Using the Interactive Whiteboards
• Lesson plans can be easily generated.• The large interactive display can be viewed
by an entire class.• Paperwork can be minimized as mastery of
many assignments can be achieved from assessing performance through the use of the technology.
• Worksheets can be scanned and displayed on the screen
