SODIUM POLYACRYLATEHOW DOES IT WORK ?
SODIUM POLYACRYLATE
A SUPER-ABSORBENT POLYMER (SAP)
Sodium polyacrylate, also called SAP (super-absorbent polymer) is a polymer that absorbs up to 200 to 300 its weight in aqueous liquids.

PRODUCTS
SAP can be used to produce many products :
▸ Baby diapers
▸ Adult incontinence briefs
▸ Sanitary napkins
▸ Airlaid
▸ Overflow absorbent, residual water sludge absorbent
▸ Composite materials
▸ Etc.

SODIUM POLYACRYLATE
WHEN IT ABSORBS…
When the sodium polyacrylate has absorbed the liquid, it is stored as a gel.
Characteristics :
‣ White
‣ Generally odorless
‣ The absorption rate is greater than 300 ml of pure water per gram of SAP
‣ The absorption rate reaches 60 ml of salted water (0,9% NaCl) per gram of SAP
‣ Long drying time (time required to solidify)
‣ Several choices of particle sizes : the finer the particles are, the faster they are absorbed
