How do I manually configure Outlook 2011 for my Exchange Account?

These instructions are for a manual configurat ion of Outlook 2011.For Exchange 2010 users, manual configuration is usually notnecessary. Click here for instructions on configuring your accountusing Autodiscover.

Outlook 2011 is available with the Office 2011 suite for the Mac. If you areusing a UT-owned machine, you can download Office from the software distribution page.

**Note: Outlook 2011 is NOT compatible w ith Exchange 2003. If you have n ot migrated toExchange 2010, you wil l not be able to use Outlook 2011 with Exchange.**

When you start Outlook for the first time, will get a welcome window that will allow you to add an account orimport your account. Click Add...

On the Accounts screen, choose Exchange Account.

Fill out the following data in the account information window:

Email Address: Your UT email address

Authentication Method: Username and Password

Username: UTK\NetID

Password: Your Active Directory Password

The window should look like this:

Click Add Account.

Entourage may ask for a server name. If it does, enter tmail.utk.edu and click Add Account again.

Click on the Advanced Button. Under the directory server, enter the following information:

Directory Server: tmail.utk.edu

Use SSL to Connect: Checked

Your window should look like this:

Your Outlook client should be configured. Click OK then close the Accounts window.

You will need to log in using UTK\ Net ID and your Active Directory password to connect, then the clientshould begin synchronizing your mail, contacts, and calendar.
