• Colour can sway thinking, change actions, and cause
reactions.
• Colour is tied to religious, cultural, political and social
influences.
• We learn to communicate through colour before our
language skills are developed.

• Most eye-catching.
• Perfect for high-pitched,
calls to action.
• Overuse causes a
negative emotional
response like aggression,
strain.
Orange
• Colour associated with
fun and youthfulness.
• Focuses mind on issues
of physical comfort and
sensuality.
• Too much causes lack of
serious intellectual
values.
Yellow
• It produces “happy”
chemicals!
• It lifts our spirits and self
esteem.
• Too much yellow can be
overpowering, fear,
irrationality.
Black
• Absorbs all colours and
enshrouds the personality.
• Communicates absolute
clarity, with no fine nuances.
• Communicates
sophistication and
seriousness.
Green
• Easiest colour for the
human eye to process.
• It communicates growth.
• Negatively, it indicates
stagnation, boredom.
Blue
• Colour of clear
communication
• It affects us mentally,
not physically like red.
• Percieved as cold,
unemotional and
unfriendly.
Violet
• Stimulates problem
solving in the human
brain.
• Overuse gives people the
impression of falsehood.
• Excessive use
communicates something
cheap and nasty.
White
• The lightest colour both
visually and in
psychological weight.
• Communicates
perception of space.
• Adversely causes sterility,
coldness.
