Advancing Our Mission UpdateCapital Enhancements Update

With the new priest residence complete, the primary focus in this stage of our Advancing Our Missioncampaign is the ongoing capital enhancement projects. A big piece of this is the new HVAC system that is being installed in the Church. HVAC stands for “heating, ventilation and air conditioning,” which helps not only regulate the temperature in the building, but also serves to ventilate the air in our spaces properly. This $500,000+ project is a huge accomplishment as winter quickly sets in. Thank you to all those who have helped make this happen! Visit www.olgparish.org/aom with any questions or for more information.

Stewardship RenewalPrayer - Tithe - Service

Sunday, November 8 - Sunday, November 22Stewardship invites everyone to help build the Kingdom of God together. St. James tells us “Every good and perfect gift is from above” (Jas 1:17). We acknowledge thisunderstanding when we use our gifts well and care for all that God has given us. Stewardship demonstrates how we give of ourselves in love and service to create a just world and build the kingdom of God.

Visit www.olgparish.org/stewardship to learn more.

Gospel we hear some of the most challenging words in all of Scripture: “I do not know you” (Mt 25:12). They

enter the kingdom of heaven,” in fact, he will declare to some, “I never knew you” (Mt 7:21,23) This weekend we are invited to examine our own relationship with the Lord. We are urged to persevere in word and deed. Does my confession match my action? Does my belief

mere intellectual exercise but intimately, personally, to

and opportunity to trust and choose the will of the Father. How might I prepare this week to know Jesus in love of God, love of neighbor and love of myself? Lord Jesus, we know that you never tire in calling us back to you; help us to respond wholeheartedly today, in word and action.

VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES

The holiday season is fast approaching and, with it, is

gathered around the table will be smaller, and there will be little or no travelling. While these adaptations may bring sadness to us, most of us will continue to celebrate Thanksgiving and Christmas. But for the many of our neighbors whose lives have been upended by the pandemic or loss of a job, business or hours of work, the

meeting the rent and utility bills, and whether there is enough money for food.

For the past several years the parishioners of Our Lady of Grace have risen to meet this challenge through our Thanksgiving food bag program. We have collaborated with the St. Louis Park Emergency Program, who has gratefully taken the hundreds of bags of food for Thanksgiving dinners we have donated and distributed to our neighbors who would have had meagerThanksgiving dinners.

This year the pandemic has forced us to do something

volunteers to sort and distribute the donated food.

Something to Think About

Supplies Drive for St. Albert’sWe continue to help our neighbors in Minneapolis bypartnering with St. Albert the Great Parish in

help. This week we have been told that the community has great need for food and hygiene items, especially: laundry detergent; razors; shaving cream; baby food; formula; maxi pads; Pedialyte; large bottles of juice; spaghetti noodles; noodles; spaghetti sauce; taco shells (hard and soft); canned meats (tuna, chicken etc.); salsa;

on-going supplies drive. All donations will be collected in the Commons at 9:00 AM on Thursdays. Mass Volunteers Needed

Due to our Mass attendance numbers continuing to grow, we have a greater need for ushers, lectors, greeters, eucharistic ministers and sacristans at our weekend and weekday liturgies. Currently we need 4-5 team members at every weekend liturgy to welcome parishioners, sanitize pews and guide parishioners in and out of the Church.

Please contact Shelly Aebi at [email protected] if you are of good health and willing to serve in one of these roles.

OLG AV Production MinistryDo you have experience with audio / visual production? Or you are willing to learn? Our Lady of Grace is seeking to grow our audio visual volunteer production team. Learn from industry experts while helping to bring live and online events to life. Ages 13+. A great ministry for families to serve together in. Contact Kory LaCroix at [email protected] for more information and to volunteer.

STEP has asked, instead, if we would request monetary donations for their Holiday Meals program. I understand that writing a check or giving a credit card number

shopping for the meal ingredients does. Yet a donation of any amount will help STEP put together grocery gift cards and purchase items for their clients.

There are envelopes in the Commons, School Welcome

give. Donations through these envelopes will be traced back to OLG, and we will know that, once again, your generous spirit has shown through. Of course, if you

food and household items drive for St. Albert the Great in the Commons and for VEAP in the bins outside Cassidy Hall.

No matter how you give, know that I am grateful for your generous hearts. As a wise priest once said, “God is never outdone in generosity.” Something to think about.
