Air means life. Fresh, clean air is the basis ofhealth and high quality of life. Taking a deepbreath we stock up on energy, generating vitalityand drive. With fresh air and a good climatepeople feel strong, powerful and motivated.
Indoor Climate Systems from Hoval:More Benefit For You
Low purchase costs. Right fromthe purchase of an indoor climatesystem from Hoval cost advan-tages arise: The patented airdistributor – called Hoval Air-Injector – works so efficiently that,in comparison with other systems,an air quantity about 25 % to 30 %smaller is sufficient to set up therequired conditions. Therefore,a smaller plant can be installedresulting in lower investmentcosts.Unlike centralised plants, thedecentralised system from Hovalnormally works without supplyand extract air ducting. Conse-quently, space requirements andinstallation costs for ducts do notapply. The indoor climate units aredelivered fully assembled and pre-wired; therefore they are easy andquick to install. The installationunder the ceiling or in the roofsaves valuable floor space. Thesystem is easy to extend or toadapt to changing operating re-quirements. And the investmentcan be made in phases – in sev-eral construction stages.
Low running costs. Indoor climate systemsfrom Hoval are masters in saving energy. Theyreduce undesirable temperature stratificationin the room, lowering heat loss through theroof to a minimum value. And thanks to thehigh ventilation efficiency, the overall airquantity that needs to be handled and treatedis smaller, saving electrical drive power andlowering ventilation heat requirements. Alsothe extract air energy is utilised – dependingon project-specific requirements units withmixed air operation or with energy recovery areused.Specially developed control systems, tailoredto the decentralised system, reliably ensure theoptimum use of energy resources and thuslowest running costs.
Problem-free servicing. Servicing andmaintenance works may be carried out duringnormal working hours; it is not necessary toswitch of the whole plant.
Environment-friendly. Indoor climate systemsfrom Hoval are environmentally sound thanksto their responsible usage of energy. Also theuse of low-emission fuels and the utilisation ofcondensation technology for heat generationreduces the effect on the environment.
The decentralised solution forventilating, heating and coolinglarge spaces. Fresh air meansquality of life. Comfort in largespaces is a fundamental conditionof their cost-efficient utilisation.Setting-up the right indoor climatein large spaces is subject tocomplex requirements. This fact istaken into account by indoorclimate systems from Hoval:These are modular, decentralisedsystems and hence extremelyflexible in adaptation to thespecific room use.
More comfort. Indoor climatesystems from Hoval make forgood air. Fresh air is injected intothe room from the top throughpatented, adjustable vortex airdistributors. The occupied area isthoroughly ventilated withoutcausing draughts; a uniform tem-perature and air quality throughoutthe room results. The people in theroom feel well. The climate is idealfor productive working, for relaxedshopping, for an informative tradefair visit, for performing sportsexercises, etc.
The individual units are decentrally, i.e. spread aroundthe room, installed under the ceiling or in the roof. Thisarrangement provides decisive advantages:— Thanks to the air distribution from high to
low level undesirable temperature strati-fication and thus heat loss through the roofis significantly reduced.
— No air ducts – which are difficult to clean –are needed; therefore the supply air staysclean and hygienic.
— Thanks to the use of several self-containedair handling units the system is very reliableand easily adapts to changing operatingconditions.

Tailor-made control system. The DigiNet is a controlsystem that has been specially developed for Hoval indoorclimate systems. It takes into account all specific require-ments for energy-saving operation as well as Hoval's longexperience with decentralised ventilation plants. The DigiNethas been developed in close collaboration with Siemens, who also supply the hardware components. With DigiNeteach ventilation unit is individually controlled, i.e. thedecentralised idea is consistently followed through in thecontrol system.
Indoor Climate Systems from Hoval:The Tailor-Made Solution
Range of application. Indoorclimate systems from Hoval providefresh air supply and extract air re-moval as well as heating and coolingin large spaces. They are ideallysuited for application in assemblyand production halls, high rackingwarehouses, aircraft hangars, ship-yards, maintenance workshops, shopping centres, do-it-yourselfstores, exhibition halls, indoorswimming pools, etc.
Construction and function. Indoor climatesystems from Hoval have a modular designprinciple. An installation comprises severalself-contained units with air flow rates up to10'000 m³/h (about 2.8 m³/s). There aredifferent unit types, that may be combineddepending on project-specific requirements toform the optimum, ideally suited solution forthe individual application:— RoofVent® units are roof ventilation units
providing fresh air supply and extract airremoval. They heat and cool the supply airvia built-in heat exchangers, save energy byheat recovery or mixed air operation andeven may be equipped with a facility fordecentralised heat or cool generation.
— TopVent® units are recirculation or supplyair units for heating and cooling in recircu-lation, mixed air or fresh air operation. TheTopVent® curtain is used as an air curtain.
— The Air-Injector is a patented, adjustableair outlet providing efficient supply airdistribution. It is part of nearly all Hovalindoor climate units; yet it is also availableas a separate component for fitting to airducts.

The TopVent® DKV is similar tothe recirculation unit heaterTopVent® DHV, but it can beused for cooling as well asheating. The major difference isthe built-in condensate sep-arator. In addition, the unit isinsulated to prevent conden-sation on the outside of thecasing. The TopVent® DKV, too, isavailable with numerous outputratings. A wide range of acces-sories allows for adaptation todifferent requirements. For quick and easy design de-tailed planning documentationcan be supplied. Take advan-tage of the extensive experienceof the Hoval technical advisoryservice.
The TopVent® commercialcreates the right indoor climatein hypermarkets and super-markets. It has been speciallydesigned for this application:The units are easily and quicklyinstalled in the roof with thecorresponding roof frame. Theydo not protrude far into theroom and maintenance worksare carried out from roof level.Special sound insulationensures particularly quietoperation. The unit is available in twodifferent designs:– TopVent® commercial AU for
heating and cooling in freshair, mixed air or recirculationoperation
– TopVent® commercial UM forheating and cooling in re-circulation operation
The RoofVent® LHW ensuresfresh air and the correct roomtemperature in large spaces. The unit incorporates a highlyefficient plate heat exchangerthat recovers energy fromextract air and transmits it tothe fresh air.
Air supply andextraction. TheRoofVent® LHWinjects fresh outsideair and extractsstale room air.
Depending on the heat demand, heating and heat recovery arecontrolled.
Recirculation. Whenno fresh air supply isrequired (e.g. duringthe night or for pre-heating in themorning), the space
is heated in cost- and energy-saving recirculation mode.

The RoofVent® LH unit providesair supply and extraction as wellas heating and cooling in largespaces. It makes use of theextract air energy in mixed airmode. The DigiNet controlsystem, which has been special-ly developed for Hoval indoorclimate systems, constantlyoptimises the fresh air rate: justas much fresh air is taken in asnecessary to maintain the roomtemperature without additionalheating or cooling. A minimumvalue can be set. Therefore the RoofVent® LH is agood choice for applicationswhere fresh air is desired butnot necessary on a large scale. If more than 40 % of fresh air isconstantly required, then a unitwith heat recovery is moreeconomical.

The RoofVent® condens per-forms similar tasks to theRoofVent® LHW. Its speciality:The ventilation unit includes ahigh efficiency condensing gasboiler with modulating burner. Thanks to this decentralisedheat generation facility no plantroom is needed. Connection toa central boiler system is unnec-essary; hence the installationcosts are lower. When the RoofVent® condens isat work, triple energy-savingtakes places:– The condensing boiler guar-
antees highest efficiency inheat generation.
– The plate heat exchangerrecovers energy from extractair.
– At very low outside tempera-tures the unit switches tomixed air operation.
The RoofVent® direct cool isused for air supply andextraction in large spaces. It issimilar to the RoofVent® LHW,however it is equipped with asingle-split cooling system fordecentralised cooling. Insteadof a LPCW cooling coil, anevaporator coil is installed inthe roof ventilation unit. Acondensing unit is fitted nearbyon the roof. Consequently, acentralised cold supply in theform of a water chiller isunnecessary. The RoofVent® direct cool maybe utilised for heating as well:a separate heating section withLPHW or electric heater batteryis installed in the ventilationunit.
