COMMUNITY FOOD PANTRY The Community Food Pantry continues to give out bags every
Thursday with nutritious staples to individuals and families who live in
Winn Parish. They accomplish this task through the work of volunteers
from all over our parish. They operate solely through gifts and
donations from churches, individuals, businesses, and clubs – without
any government funds. Along with food items, they now offer eggs
donated every week from a local business, school uniforms, Christian
books and devotionals, New Testaments, homemade jellies and jams,
an opportunity to pray with a minister, and enhanced choices on the
“Lagniappe” table. Thank you for keeping this local ministry alive.

Pastor Search Committee Update
We have completed our meeting and now have a short list of well
qualified candidates. GOD IS GREAT! And now the tough part is
finding the right fit for us. Again, this time is critical and your
prayers are needed. Pray that we heed God's guidance through the
Holy Spirit to hone in on the one man that God has destined for
us. Thank you so much

A Note from Pastor Danny Keyes
I’m ready for a change in the way I worship and if you are too, read
this prayerfully. It has nothing to do with the preacher, the worship
leader, the musicians, the praise band, the songs that are chosen, or
the music style. It is all about me and my personal approach to
worship. I am going to apply the principle found in II Chronicles
29:27. King Hezekiah had restored the temple and he was working
to recover true worship. This scripture says “When the sacrifice
began, the song of the Lord began also”. I am not advocating animal
sacrifices that were required in that day, but I am taking note of
what Paul told us in Romans 12:2; “Present yourself a living
sacrifice to God”.
I am reminded that worship is not about what I want, what I enjoy,
or what I expect. It is about remembering what He has done and
then discovering what I can do for Him. I have concluded that if I
approach worship in the attitude of Romans 12:2, every song will be
a “song of the Lord” and every message will benefit my relationship
with God. When we come into His presence with the proper attitude
of sacrifice we will be drawn to Him, and true worship will result.
How liberating it is to know that no matter what songs, style of
music, or sermon I hear, I can worship and sense the presence of
God, feel his comfort, and find His path for my life. I want to hear
the “song of the Lord” every time I come to His house, and I know
that I can if I approach worship in the way Paul prescribes. Join me
in true worship today and every time we gather in this place.
