Unfortunately I cannot fire people that don't work for me. When people start trying to get rid of you within 30 days of you coming on board it means they planned that all along. The initial stuff I dealt with was not true and that is why I am still here. With regards to the financials we aren't hiding anything. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles don't apply to a political committee and frankly would be nonsensical if published that way. We have a lot to clean up and I share that with the executive committee and will continue to do so. An accounting system that is essentially broke and needs many things to operate correctly is at the heart of it. We are working on that. When CPA's sign a letter criticizing me for things they have never called me about or ask a question about I question their integrity. Finally if we gave all the data to the State Central Committee that a few are asking for they would simply put it on facebook and hurt the party. I won't allow that. I am sorry you are disappointed but I cannot back down from bullies and cowards. I have to bring the party together and nothing we do is unethical, truly secretive, or outside the bylaws. We were the first administration to publish a quarterly financial report even though it has been in the bylaws for years. Thanks for being brave enough to share your thoughts. I was one who stood up and helped you get elected.I felt strongly that you had the leadership skills to lead Colorado to do great things for 2016.I no longer feel this way.Great leaders lead and they don't hide. You've run huge companies before and you know as well as I do that if you were a CFO of an organization and had this much controversy you would have been fired a long time ago. I just wanted to share how deeply disappointed I am in how you've let us down. When you were elected I donated to the party for the first time in my life.As long as you remain the leader I will no longer donate 1 cent as I don't know where my money is going. Date: Thu, 30 Jul 2015 15:07:39 -0600 Subject: CRC Q1 and Q1 Financials From: [email protected] To: State Central Committee, In accordance with our bylaws, I am sending you quarterly financial statements for Q1 and Q2 of this year. Going forward, a quarterly statement will be sent to you 30 days after the completion of a quarter; October 30th, January 30th, April 30th, and July 30th. These reports are intended to give you an overview of how things are going as well as basic trends in fund raising and expenses. More detailed financial discussions are held every other month in our Executive Committee meetings in which all contributions and expenditures are provided to the EC and questions are answered in any area they have a concern. Starting this month, we will be giving the EC more information on outstanding bills and debt now that we have had time to review and process where we are. Unfortunately I cannot fire people that don't work for me. When people start trying to get rid of you within 30 days of you coming on board it means they planned that all along. [That makes no sense whatsoever. Why would we have wanted to see him elected just to try to see him resign? The efforts to seek his resignation started after about 2 ! months. Not 30 days.] The initial stuff I dealt with was not true and that is why I am still here. With regards to the financials we aren't hiding anything. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles don't apply to a political committee and frankly would be nonsensical if published that way. [ What basis is there for saying that?? The bank requires GAAP in the loan covenant with the party. If GAAP is not used, then what Other Comprehensive Basis of Accounting (OCBOA) is being used?Non, Im afraid.] We have a lot to clean up and I share that with the executive committee and will continue to do so. An accounting system that is essentially broke and needs many things to operate correctly is at the heart of it. [The state party financial transactions could easily be kept on old-fashioned green ledger sheets or a simple Quicken program. Is it not hard!] We are working on that. When CPA's sign a letter criticizing me for things they have never called me about or ask a question about I question their integrity.[They have read the correspondence that House sent to others and the financial schedules he released. ] Finally if we gave all the data to the State Central Committee that a few are asking for they would simply put it on facebook and hurt the party. I won't allow that.[Hmm. The requestors have only asked for complete financial statements as required by the bylaws, with less detail than FEC reports. Now how would that hurt the party if the FEC reports are being legally filed???] I am sorry you are disappointed but I cannot back down from bullies and cowards. I have to bring the party together and nothing we do is unethical, truly secretive, or outside the bylaws. [House must have forgotten about the requirements for an audit in the bylaws, and quarterly financial statements, and the bank loan covenants.] We were the first administration to publish a quarterly financial report even though it has been in the bylaws for years. [publishing a nonsensical report that is meaningless is hardly a cause for pride.] Thanks for being brave enough to share your thoughts. Steve
