    Welcome to the very first HotHouse Season brochure, runningfrom January through to the end of May, and featuring awonderful mix of stand-up comedy, classical music, comedytheatre, period drama, children and family performances,contemporary dance and some sensational music.

    2011 is a hugely significant time for the arts in Doncaster withthe development of Doncasters new venue, building realmomentum and excitement in the town. Over the next 2years well be further expanding the breadth and quality of theHotHouse programme, bringing you the very best of whatstouring as well as new commissions, bespoke work andbringing national and internationally-renowned performers toDoncaster audiences.

    Alongside the HotHouse programme we are continuing todeliver exciting partnership projects supporting creativelearning and participation, such as our partnership withManchester Camerata. We are committed to offering allHotHouse events at the lowest possible ticket prices, and willcontinue to nurture school-age audiences through a limitednumber of tickets for 12-18 year olds at only 6, for mostperformances.

    Opening in summer 2013, Doncasters magnificent new venue will be more than a step-change for audiences and performers. With 21st century facilities two main performancespaces and two studios one for dance and one for drama, plus meeting rooms and acaf bar, it will change Doncasters arts and entertainments offer dramatically.

    Much more than just a night-time venue, it will offer something for everyone. Open fromearly morning until well after shows have finished it will offer workshops, classes, films andlive entertainment, for all ages and interests. Its caf bar will look out onto the new publicsquare and be a lovely space to simply sit and take time out or to meet friends for a coffeeand a chat.

    When Mole plucks up the courage to explore the

    riverbank with his friend Ratty, nothing can preparehim for the adventure that awaits. Along withBadger and the irrepressible Mr. Toad, the foursomecareer from one exploit to the next, culminating in abattle to save Toad Hall, and their way of life.

    This brand new show celebrates the highs and lowsof the wonderful women who helped keep Britainfed during World War II. Set against a backdrop of glorious 40s music, alongside new tunes bysongwriter Jez Lowe.
