Hotelier Of the Year
The primary basis for selection is demonstrated achievements in hotel operations in the
previous year; however the hotelier’s achievements in community affairs is also be taken
into account.
All member hoteliers who fall in the following categories are eligible for nomination:
(i) Owner/Operator
(ii) Hotel General Manager/Managing Director
(iii) Owner of Hotel
Hotel Manager/Supervisor of the Year
This award is open to departmental heads in member properties. The primary basis for
selection will be demonstrated competence in the supervision of his/her department;
however, the manager’s/supervisor’s overall service record and involvement in the affairs
of his/her local community will also be taken into account.
Tourism Employee of the Year
The primary basis for selection will be performance during the previous year; however
the employee’s overall service record, both in the tourist industry and in his/her local
community, will also be taken into account.
All employees of JHTA member organizations in the following categories are eligible for
nomination as the Tourism Employee of the Year:
Accommodations (Non-hotel)
Airlines
Airports
Associations (Tourism)
Attractions
Car Rentals
Entertainment Complexes
Ground Tour Operators
In-Bond Jewellers
Reception Agents
Restaurants & Bars
Taxi Operators
EXIM Bank Award to JHTA Small Hotel of the Year
The primary basis for selection will be demonstrated achievements in hotel operations;
however the hotel’s support for economic activity in its community and its health and
environmental stewardship will also be taken into account. Additional points will be
awarded for innovations or creative ideas successfully implemented and strategic
approaches employed to the hotel’s benefit.
The Lifetime Achievement Award
The Lifetime Achievement Award has been created to honour members of the JHTA and
public sector officials who by their consistent and dedicated work have contributed
notably to the growth, expansion and development of the tourism industry and/or have
led or inspired improvement in the marketing and/or quality of tourism.
Recipients of this award must be outstanding individuals of unquestionable integrity and
high ethical standards.
