Recent events around the world illustrate only too tragically the need for enhanced security within the hospitality industry. These events have had a dramatic affect on the industry, and have brought to the forefront the need to face these challenges head-on. However, this emphasis on external security risks must not be allowed to diminish the need for conventional security and safety. The latter must be implemented in an intelligent manner, increasing customer confidence without causing alarm.

International Activities

In 2004, a strategic decision was taken at HSMT to branch out beyond Israel's borders to the international market and, as a result, offices have already been opened in London, Istanbul and Jacksonville, Florida, with initial contacts received from Amsterdam, Bucharest, Nicosia, and Bogotá, Colombia. In addition, HSMT is to begin cooperation with the Ecole Hôtelière de Lausanne in Switzerland, the oldest and one of the most respected hotel schools in the world.
