FREE Ohio State Tournaments: The following tournaments are FREE The winner of this tournament will get a trophy, a copy of the game, plus a seat at the final round of the Midwest Regional Championship at Geekway to the West (as well as a free badge to Geekway to the West)!

The 2019 Ohio State Diamonds Championship Fri. at 7:00pm. This Stronghold game by Mike Fitzgerald is a trick-taking card game in which players collect Diamonds - not cards bearing that suit, mind you, but rather actual "Diamond Crystals". What makes the game of Diamonds different from other trick-taking card games is that when you cannot follow suit you get a "Suit Action" based on what suit you do play. Suit Actions are also taken by the winner of each trick, as well as at the end of a full Round of play. Whoever has the most points in Diamond Crystals wins!

****** The 2019 State Coup Championship Fri. 9:00pm In Coup, you want to be the last player with influence in the game, with influence being represented by face-down character cards in your playing area. ******

The 2019 Ohio State Wordsy Championship Sat. at 10am. Wordsy is a streamlined re-implementation of Prolix, a word game from 2010. Each round, players study the 8 letters (always consonants) on the board in real time. The first player to write down a word flips a 30-second timer. That player is now the fastest player, and every other player now has 30 seconds to write down their word.

******

NEW! The 2019 Ohio State SHOBU Championship Sat. at 12pm. A beautifully crafted 2-player abstract strategy game from Smirk & Laughter. Your turn is in two parts. First, a player may move one of their stones up to two spaces in any direction, including diagonally, in what is called a passive (or set up) move. Second, they take a more aggressive move, which must be the same direction and number of spaces as the first move. It is this second move that allows you to push stones across the board - or off the board's edge. Remove all four of your opponent's stones from just one of the four boards to win.

****** The 2019 Ohio State ICECOOL 2 Championship Sat. at 2:00pm. A flicking game in which each round one of the players takes the role of the Hall Monitor – to catch each other penguin. The others will try to run through several doors, thus gaining fish on their way. When either the Hall Monitor has caught each other penguin once or any of the others has gone through all 3 doors that have fish on them, the round is over. After each player is the Hall Monitor once, whoever has the most points on their fish cards wins. ******

The 2019 Ohio State Pyramid Poker Championship Sat. at 4:00pm. Each player takes fifteen blocks and turns the blocks so that only they see them. They take turns placing the blocks into a two-dimensional pyramid-shaped struc-ture, then they take turns removing any one block from the pyramid and placing it into one of three poker hands that they’re constructing. Each poker hand is competing against the one opposite it that’s being built by the oppo-nent. Once all the blocks have been removed, the player who wins two or three of the poker hands wins!

****** The 2019 Ohio State New York Slice Championship Sat. at 7:00pm. Each player slices pizzas into portions, giving their opponents first choice, while they take the leftovers. There are a dozen kinds of pizza to work with, from veggie to Hawaiian to meat lover’s, and each player decides if they want to eat or keep some of the slices, building the best collection of pizzas possible!

******

The 2019 State Skull King Championship Sat. 9:00pm. Skull King is a trick-taking game similar to Oh Hell!, Wizard and Spades, with players needing to state how many tricks they think they'll win each round. Pirates and other special cards add to the strategy.

****** The 2019 State Dimension Championship Sunday 10:00am. Dimension is a fast-paced, innovative puzzle game that takes place in three dimensions with 60 colorful spheres. All of the players play at the same time. Everybody tries to position the spheres on their trays to earn as many points as possible. The task cards indicate how the spheres must be placed to earn points. Complete these tasks while racing against the timer. You get a point for each sphere you use and a bonus token for using all five colors, but you lose two points for each task card you don't follow correctly. Prove to your opponents that you are the master of multi-dimensional thinking!

Greater Cincinnati Tabletop Game Designers - With CinCityCon, we finally have the space to

put on a convention that is everything you want in the future of Game Design. We would love to see CCC

grow into the premier event for discussing and playtesting the design of new games. If you are a gamer

who wants to see what’s new, just look for our specially designated designer tables. If you are a designer,

we have multiple opportunities for you. CinCityCon is dedicated to growing the board gaming community

and supporting Game Designers. We have established several great events focused on Game Designers

including a Game Design Contest, New Game Design Demos, encouraging feedback from play testers,

Game Design Promotion, Sponsoring the Meetup for Cincinnati Game Designers, and possible other

events like Game Design Speed Dating with Publishers. CinCityCon will encourage publishers and the

community to participate in these events.

IFGS – International Fantasy

Gaming Society - Ohio River Val-

ley Cosplayers A Cosplay Family. ORCs

support the cosplay community by pro-

moting positivity in cosplay. Outreach,

education and support is offered online and conventions by hosting panels, demonstrations and an offering

emergency repair station (CosEd and our CosER).

Extra Life - Extra Life unites thousands of gamers around the world to

play games in support of their local Children’s Miracle Network Hospital. By

playing games we raise money to directly help the children in our local

community.

Cincinnati Arsenal Gaming - We are a community of gamers that continuously strive to

grow the hobbies and games we love through demos, tournaments, and just playing the games. While

supporting the local gaming stores!!!!

ORCs – Ohio River Valley Cosplayers A Cosplay Family. ORCs support the cosplay community by pro-

moting positivity in cosplay. Outreach, education and support is offered online and conventions by hosting

panels, demonstrations and an offering emergency repair station (CosEd and our CosER).

AcadeCon - is specifically designed to be a smaller, non-traditional con-

vention. We are not trying to (nor do we want to) compete with or replace the

huge conventions that attract a national audience. At our convention, you’re

going to get access to 24-hour gaming hall, a better chance to play in the

games you want, the opportunity to spend time and game with special guests,

and time to hang out with some of the best gamers in the world—the fans of

our show!
