Dave Lewis, CEO

18 years ago, Dave Lewis was a partner in the

telecommunications firm GVNW. With the passing of

the Telecommunications Act of 1996, Dave’s rural-

based ILEC customers were finally able to sell long

distance services. The challenge, though, was to

buy LD at a price low enough to be competitive.

To overcome this hurdle, Dave came up with a

simple idea. If the ILECs would work together, they

could create enough scale to buy LD at a better

wholesale rate — and ANPI was born.
