On behalf of the Government of Ontario, I am delighted to welcome the international water technology community to this year’s Ontario Water Innovation Week.
Access to clean water is a human right — essential to life, health and human dignity. It is one of the biggest and most complex issues we face today — with climate change, population growth, urbanization, and industrialization intensifying the challenges.
Innovations and strategies for the adoption of advanced water technologies are key to meeting our needs today and preserving our supply of clean water for future generations.
This event is a gathering of key global players and a great opportunity to determine the most effective strategies to address major water challenges around the world and in North America.
As you know, this week will be anchored by two major conferences: Water Innovation in Action and World Water-Tech North America.
I want to thank WaterTAP for hosting this week and for giving the community two excellent forums to share ideas, assess our progress and drive the commercialization and adoption of advanced technologies to address our most pressing water challenges.
Have a productive and successful Ontario
Water Innovation Week!
