SAT. 07 OCT: Canada to CairoToday we depart from Canada on our overnight flight(s) to Cairo. Groupseating will be pre-assigned by the airline for our flight. Dinner andcomplimentary in-flight service will be provided this evening. (D)

SUN. 08 OCT: Arrival CairoUpon arrival at Cairo Airport, we are met by our Tour Manager who willassist us with immigration and luggage formalities. From the airport, wetake the short drive to our hotel where we can unpack and relax. Tonight wewill have our ‘welcome dinner’ at tour hotel in anticipation of a memorablejourney. (B, D)

MON. 09 OCT: Cairo to LuxorThis morning, we take our domestic flight to Luxor and check-in to ourriver boat cruise vessel and enjoy lunch onboard. Our afternoon has usvisiting the impressive temples of Luxor and Karnak. Dinner is onboardour river boat. (B, L, D)

TUE.10 OCT: Valley of the Kings and QueensThis morning, we cross over on to the west banks of the river Nile and visitthe necropolis of Thebes. Passing the Colossi of Memnon, we visit theTemple of Hatshepsut in the Valley of the Queens. From here, we visit theValley of the Kings, burial site to many Pharaohs including Ramses II, butmost known for the tomb of Tutankhamen. Dinner is onboard our river boat.At the end of the day we set sail on our journey down the Nile. (B, L, D)

WED. 11 OCT: Edfu and KomomboAfter breakfast, we enjoy a horse drawn carriage ride from our boat to thetemple of Horus. From Edfu we set sail for Komombo. Here we visit themajestic temple, before setting sail for our overnight passage to Aswan.Dinner is onboard our river boat. (B, L, D)

THU. 12 OCT: Aswan and PhilaeSitting on the brink of the Nubean desert and lake Nasser, we visit Aswanand the High Dam. This impressive engineering structure, provides powerfor most of Egypt. After lunch, we take a small ferry boat ride out to thebeautiful temple of Philae. Relocated, piece by piece, this temple was oneof many that had to be moved during the construction of the High Dam.Arguably, one of the most picturesque settings on the Nile. Dinner isonboard our river boat. (B, L, D)

FRI. 13 OCT: CairoThis morning we will have our breakfast before taking the short domesticflight back to Cairo and meet our fellow travelers, who arrived fromCanada. Our day of sightseeing will include:

Memphis – The original capital of Egypt! Now a southern suburb of Cairo,we see the remains of this once great city.

Saqqara – It is here that we view Djoser’s ‘step’ pyramid. Built in the 3rd

dynasty, this pyramid was the precursor to the great pyramids of Giza.

Pyramids of Giza – Truly magnificent! Not only can you stand on thesegreat testaments to ancient engineering, but you can walk through thepassageways of the Great Pyramid to its inner core, the Great Chamber.

Great Sphinx – To this day there is much debate over who built this largemonument and to whose name it was dedicated. Regardless, the GreatSphinx has stood the test of time and is a wonder to see.

Dinner will be at our hotel tonight. (B, D)

SAT. 14 OCT: AlexandriaToday, we drive to the Mediterranean coast and the city of Alexandria.Whilst in Alexandria we shall visit the catacombs of Kom esh Shuqafa,the National Museum and the Library of Alexandria. It was inAlexandria where the disciple Mark was martyred.

Once back at our hotel, we will enjoy dinner and relaxation. (B, D)

SUN. 15 OCT: CairoOur second day in Cairo takes us to the unique Christian district of Cairo,and to the famous museum.

Egypt Museum – Host to over 120,000 artifacts, there is much to see,including the famous Tutankhamon collection.

Coptic Cairo – The Hanging Church and early Christianity. Traditionallocation of where Mary, Joseph and Jesus stayed during their time in Egypt.

Cave Church of St. Simon – See how God’s grace transformed the area ofCairo known as “Garbage City” into something truly amazing.

Felucca Ride – An enjoyable ride on the river Nile, onboard the smallFelucca boats before returning to our hotel.

Once back at our hotel, we will enjoy dinner and relaxation. (B, D)

MON. 16 OCT: Exodus to Mt. SinaiThis morning, we embark on a symbolic voyage as we make our ownEXODUS towards the Promised Land, traveling across the Sinai desert,arriving at the foot of Mt. Sinai by late afternoon.

Here we find St. Catherine’s Monastery built upon the traditional site ofMoses’ encounter with the Burning Bush .

Dinner will be at the St. Catherine’s Plaza hotel this evening. (B, L, D)

DAY 7: TUE. 17 OCT: Mt. Sinai, Red SeaFor those of you who wish to do so, you can ascend Mt. Sinai for sunrise.A truly unique and spectacular moment!

For those less energetic, you can enjoy a morning of relaxation.

This afternoon, we leave for the Red Sea where we will stay for one night andenjoy the surroundings, including optional snorkeling, for which it is famous!

This evening, dinner will be at our hotel, the Sol Taba Red Sea hotel. (B, D)

WED. 18 OCT.: Negev WildernessThis morning we cross into Israel and begin our journey in the land of “milkand honey.”

Timna Valley – This unique area of geological formations is rich in copper.Experts believe that this is the area where Solomon mined for copper. Whilsthere, we shall visit the Tabernacle Model. This full scale reproduction isaccurate in every way to the dimensions described in the Bible. Don’t lookfor any gold, silver or bronze, as those materials are not used in this exhibit!

Today our final resting place is our hotel, located on the shores of the DeadSea. Dinner will be at our hotel. (B, D)

THU. 19 OCT: Masada, Dead SeaAfter breakfast we stay in the Judean wilderness and follow the shores ofThe Dead Sea to visit;

Masada – This UNESCO World Heritage site was once Herod’s mountaintop palace and fortress. Here we ascend to the site by cable car and learnabout the last Jewish stand against the Romans and the mass suicide of the960 Jewish defenders.

Ein Gedi- This national park and oasis hosts the caves of David’s Gorgewhere David hid from Saul and his army.(I Samuel 24; Song of Solomon 1:14; Ezekiel 47:10)

The remainder of the afternoon will be left open for you to enjoy the uniqueproperties of the Dead Sea.

Dead Sea – No visit to the Dead Sea would be complete withoutexperiencing the unique buoyancy of these waters. Cover yourself intherapeutic black mud and float your aches and pains away!

Bethsaida – Also known as ‘The House of The Fisherman’, this is the homeof Peter, Philip and Andrew and also the place where Jesus fed the fivethousand and healed the blind man. Here, we will see recent excavations ofthis old city. (Matthew 11:21; Luke 10:13; John 1:35-42)

Church of the Primacy of Peter- The shore where Jesus met Peter after theResurrection. (John 21)

Tabgha – Located at the foot of the Mt. of Beatitudes this is the site of theMiracle of The Loaves and the Fishes. (Mark 6:34-44; Matthew 14:14-21; 16:18-19; John 21:15-19)

Sea of Galilee Boat Ride – Today ends with boat ride on the Sea of Galilee.

Dinner, tonight, will be at the Tiberius hotel, on the shores of the Sea ofGalilee. (B, D)

DAY 13. MON. 23 OCT: Nazareth, MegiddoToday we visit Nazareth, capital city of the Galilee.

Nazareth – Here is where Jesus spent his childhood with Mary and Joseph.Nazareth is also the site of The Annunciation and where the Nazarenesattempted to throw Jesus over the cliff.

Cana- Now a suburb of Nazareth, Cana, is the site where Jesus performedhis first miracle when he changed water into wine at a wedding. (Luke 1:26-38; John 1:46; Matthew 2:23)

Megiddo – Hebrew for Armageddon, Megiddo was strategically locatedon the main trading routes between Babylonia and Egypt. Here KingSolomon built a giant fortress and city. (Judges 1:27; 5:19;1 Kings 4:12;9:15, II Chronicles 35:22; Zechariah 12:12, Revelation 16:16)

Mount Carmel – Overlooking the city of Haifa with the MediterraneanSea and Jezreel Valley on either side we stand where the Prophet Elijahperformed his miracle and called upon the fire of God to conquer theProphets of Baal. (1 Kings 2; 15:4,25, Isaiah 33:9; Zechariah 12:12)

Caesarea – The ancient Roman seaport capital of Israel where PontiusPilate had his base.

After another fascinating day we shall travel ‘up’ to Jerusalem. The finalresting place of our journey. (B, D)

DAY 14. TUE. 24 OCT: JerusalemAfter breakfast we will spend retracing some of the steps of Jesus.

Mount of Olives – We begin our day by viewing Jerusalem from the Mt.of Olives. Photo opportunities abound at this time with the Golden Domeof the Rock prominent. From here we shall walk down to The Garden ofGethsemane along the same path as that Jesus took when entering the cityon Palm Sunday.

Garden of Gethsemane – The site where Jesus prayed at the Rock ofAgony in the Garden. - “My Father, if it is not possible for this cup to be

taken away unless I drink it, may your will be done.” (Matthew 26:36-56;Mark 14:32-50; Luke 22:39-53; John 18:1-14)

House of Caiaphas – Located under the current St. Peter of Gallicantuchurch is the traditional site where Jesus was imprisoned

Upper Room – The traditional site where Jesus instituted a new Passovercelebration and the new Covenant in His blood. (Mark 14:15)

Yad Vashem – The national museum and memorial to the holocaust.

Dinner is served at our hotel this evening. (B, D)

WED. 25 OCT: JerusalemOur second day in Jerusalem has us visiting the following sites:

Israel Museum- The newly renovated museum is home to many historicalartifacts that resonate with the Bible.

DAY 10. FRI. 20 OCT: Dead Sea Scrolls, Beth SheanThis morning we shall leave the Dead Sea and head northwards to the HulaValley in the upper Galilee. En-route we shall visit;

Qumran – Home to the ancient Essenes. It is here that they wrote the DeadSea Scrolls almost two thousand years ago. Here we will visit the excavatedsites of Qumran and view the location where The Scrolls were found in 1947.

After Qumran we head further north and pass Gilgal, where Saul wasproclaimed king. Gilgal became a sacred place because the tribes of Israelfirst encamped and celebrated Passover there after their miraculous crossingof the Jordan River and before their conquest of the Promised Land.

Harod’s Spring – It is here that Gideon gathered his men before fightingthe Midianites. (Judges 7:1-8)

Bet She’an – The largest of Israel’s archeological digs. Even after the initialdiscovery many years ago, archeologists are, today, still discovering moreruins from the Roman era when Bet She’an was one of the 10 cities in TheDecapolis.

This ancient city, although destroyed by an earthquake in the 8th Century,offers a fabulous insight into Roman life and times. After losing the battleto the Philistines, King Saul and his sons were hung from the city walls.(Judges 4:7-8)

After another fascinating day we make our way to Tiberius. Our home forthe next three nights! Located by the shores of the Sea of Galilee, this is theperfect location to experience the Galilee. (B, D)

SAT. 21 OCT: Nazareth, Caesarea Philippi, Upper GalileeAfter breakfast we visit Nazareth, capital city of the Galilee, before headingto the upper Galilee.

Nazareth- Here is where Jesus spent his childhood with Mary and Joseph.Nazareth is also the site of The Annunciation and where the Nazarenesattempted to throw Jesus over the cliff.

Tel Dan – This national park and archeological site offer a blend of Israel’snatural beauty and Biblical history!

Caesarea Philippi – Built at one of the sources of the Jordan River, thecity of Panias (named by the Greeks after the goat-footed god, Pan) waslater renamed by the Romans as Caesarea Philippi. It was here that Jesusrevealed to the Disciples His purpose, His Church, and where Peteridentified Jesus as the Messiah. (Mark 8:27; Matthew 16:13-23)

DAY 12. SUN. 22 OCT: Sea of Galilee After another Israeli buffet breakfast our full touring day involves visits to:

Yardenit – In this river, where Jesus was Baptized, you have theopportunity to be Baptized or have your Baptismal vows reaffirmed.

The Mount of Beatitudes – Sit on the hill where Jesus delivered hisSermon on the Mount. Looking directly south at the Sea of Galilee, theflower filled gardens offer peace and tranquility. (Matthew 5:1-8).

We will take the scenic walk down the mount to the shores of the Galileeand Capernaum.

Capernaum – The center of Jesus’ Galilee Ministry. .Jesus lived here for asubstantial period, healing the sick, preaching in the synagogue andperforming miracles. The Greek Orthodox Church, Franciscan monasteryand Roman Catholic Church of St. Peter make for an interestingkaleidoscope of varying architecture. (Matthew 9:1; 4:13)

Yad Vashem- The national museum and memorial to the holocaust!

Shrine of the Book museum- Here, we can see many original fragmentsof the Dead Sea scrolls plus a replica of the great Isaiah scroll.

Scale Model of Jerusalem- This fabulous reconstruction of the old city ofJerusalem gives us a chance to better understand the importance of thesecond temple and the city during Herodian times.

Dinner will be back at our hotel this evening.After dinner we have a special evening visit to the western wall and thetunnels.

Western Wall and Tunnels- Also called The Wailing Wall. The holiestplace of pilgrimage for the Jews! Here we can observe the Orthodox Jewsas they pray, relentlessly, along with many Christians. Some of us may wishto leave a hand written note placed in the crevices of the Western Wall. (B, D)

THU. 26 OCT: Jerusalem After breakfast we spend our first day in Jerusalem visiting the old city:

Temple Mount – Pending access to the site, we will see the al-AqsaMosque and the Dome of the Rock.

Southern Steps- Here we stand in front of the entrance to the temple fromthe south. These are the very Steps of Ascent. (Psalms 120 – 134.)

Burnt house - Here, we see the excavations of a 1st century wealthyresidence which were partially destroyed by the Romans in 70 AD.

City of David - We will be guided through the site and new excavations ofthe city of David. You will have the opportunity to walk through Hezekiah’stunnel and re-surface at the pool of Siloam.

Old City- Here we will walk through the streets of the Armenian and Jewishquarters of old Jerusalem.

Dinner will be back at our hotel. (B, D)

FRI. 27 OCT: Bethlehem, Garden TombAfter breakfast our final day in the Holy Land will include the following:

A morning visit to the outskirts of Jerusalem and the city of bread.‘Bethlehem,’where we shall visit: Milk Grotto, Manger Square, theChurch of the Nativity, Star of Bethlehem, Milk Grotto and Shepherd’sFields.

From Bethlehem, we shall return to Jerusalem and finish our journey witha truly memorable visit to the Garden Tomb. Here we shall have a privateworship service with communion, before returning to our hotel.

Garden Tomb- Preserved by The Garden Tomb Association these beautifulgardens surround the traditional site of The Garden Tomb. Many believethat this was the actual garden of Joseph of Arimathea. (John 19:41)

This evening we will enjoy our last dinner together in Jerusalem. Awonderful time to share and reflect on what this journey has meant to you!(B, D)

SAT. 28 OCT: Israel to CanadaThis morning we depart for our flights back to Canada, arriving home in thelate evening. Breakfast and complimentary in-flight service will be providedonboard. (B,D)
