Host a Troop Renewal Party! Let’s do this all over again in 2016! Sign up for another year of adventure, fun and laughs with Girl Scouts. On the Day of the Event • Arriving girls decorate a party hat and are welcomed with a big Hello! and Promise & Law. • Invite girls to share their favorite experience from the year and let them know that you want to do this all over again. Ask the girls what they are looking forward to next year. • While girls sing songs, play games, GSEM staff or adult volunteer helps to rerenew memberships online at www.hergirlscouts.org. A troop renewal party is a quick and simple way to sign your Girl Scout troop up for the 2015- 2016 membership year. When your troop re-registers before July 1 (10am), each girl receives a free patch and you are free of the worry of collecting memberships over the summer. Pick a Date • Select a date for an end of year celebration or troop renewal party. • Secure a meeting space. Call for Support • Reach out to your Service Unit Registrar to see if she is available to assist at the party. • No Service Unit Registar? Call or email your Recruitment Specialist to attend. • While you host the party, the Service Unit Registrar or Recruitment Specialist can help troop families with the online renewal process. Send the Invites • Use customizable PDFs to invite your girls and their family to the troop renewal party. • In the “BRING” section, ask families to bring $25 (cash, check or credit card) payment for their girl and $15 to renew an adult membership. Cash or check renewal payments will require the use of a troop credit card. Be sure to confirm the available account funds. Prep for the Big Day • Keep it simple with dollar store party favors - hats and noise makers are a hit. • Prepare a simple ceremony to acknowledge the girls accomplishments. • Teach the girls a few new Girl Scout songs and play simple games. • Arrange for party snacks: cupcakes, fruit, or chips and salsa are favorites.
