function If a hose or pipe rupture occurs, the system immediately throttles the flow except for a small residualflow. Undamaged parts of the compressed air system remain under pressure. The affected segmentor the hose can be replaced safely. After the repair, the rest of the affected segment will slowly filleduntil the working pressure level is reached. Once this level is reached, the system opens the lineback to normal operation.

functionality
1 The air is supplied through P1.2 The air flow passes through the piston (1) and flows through the seat (3).3 The flow is decelerated by longitudinal grooves on the upper surface of the piston.4 In the case of super elevated flow the air can not pass fast enough through the piston and presses it against the underlying spring
(2) in the direction of the seat.5 The maximum flow rate is shown in the diagrams "closing values"6 If this value is exceeded, the air supply will be blocked automatically.

selection of the right hose burst safety valve1 choosing the right size is very important. the flow must be sufficient for normal operation and in case of a hose or pipe breaks, the
hose burst safety valve must closing. if the flow is too low, the hose burst safety does not close.the correct size must be confirmed with a test function.the hose burst safety valve closes upon reaching the corresponding flow with a tolerance of / - 10%.
2 for the size selection (sizing) are relevant:pressure on the hose burst safety valve (P1)air consumption of the tool at which pressureinner diameter of the tubelength of tubingnominal diameter of compressed air parts (pressure regulators, couplings, coupling plug) before and after the hose burst safetyvalve
3 air consumption to the tool:the maximum air consumption of the tool and the pressure required are crucial to selecting the correct hose burst safety valve.if the air consumption of the tool is not known, this have to be measured. theoretical information is insufficient and can causemalfunctions.with the flow rate and the closing value table the right hose burst safety valve can be determined now.a general rule is that the hose burst safety valve should bring at least 20% more flow, as the tool needs during normal operation.
4 inner diameter of the tube:as a guideline for the minimum inner diameter, the following values has to be observed.1/4" = 6mm, 3/8" = 8mm, 1/2" = 13mm, 3/4" = 16mm, 1" = 19mm, 2" = 40mm
5 length of tubing:very long hoses can cause a pressure drop at the end of the hose and conduce to a reduction of the flow. thus, the function of thehose burst safety valve is no longer guaranteed.by enlarging of the inner diameter of the hose the length can be extended.
6 nominal diameter of compressed air parts (pressure regulators, couplings, coupling plug):the nominal diameter of the pneumatic parts must correspond at least to the nominal diameter (DN) of the hose burst safety valve.
7 example:air consumption tool = 700Nl/min +20% safety = 840Nl/min, pressure 6barresult: For this example a hose burst safety valve of the size G3/8" is correct.
