Keep your Garden Buzzing Would you like to know more about the bees in your garden and how you can help them thrive? Many bee species are under threat but gardens can provide havens for bees if we grow plants that are useful to bees and manage our gardens with bees in mind. Rhona Toft, a Master Beekeeper and horticulturist, will take you through the lives of the different types of bees and highlight their needs. You will leave knowing which plants are the most attractive to bees and how best to manage your garden so that it is buzzing all Summer long.

The Medieval Gardens Chrissy Ching will give a talk on English medieval gardens from 1066 to 1500. The Pleasance garden; used for pleasure, recreation and enjoying ornamental plantings. Gardens from this time were ephemeral, so where is the evidence? What might the gardens look like? What plants were used? How did they evolve?

Pest & Disease Control without Chemicals? For most gardeners today, chemicals are the last resort, but as more chemicals are being withdrawn what are the alternatives? Roger Umpelby will put these into perspective but, be warned, some of them are still very controversial. Is a blend of traditional methods with some new cutting edge scientific options the answer to pest and disease control? Perhaps the jury is still out.

Vegetables from one season to another Maggi Brown will look at how to move forward from the Summer gluts into Autumn and Winter growing. Too many plots are left bare over winter and there is so much that can be grown. Pershore College Gardens - Volunteer GroupWe are looking to start a small group of volunteers who could offer some of their time to help develop and maintain the gardens at Pershore College. The aim is to create a small enthusiastic social team of people to input along side our staff to enhance some of the key areas within the gardens.
