Why is bread one of the most wasted foods? How can we keep this bread out of landfills?

How can a loaf of bread become a tool to get homeless people necessary job skills

and work experience?

How can a loaf of bread make busy professionals’ lives a bit simpler and easier?

The answer? HOPE LOAF

• Hope Loaf is a fourth sector business that employs

homeless citizens transitioning off the street.

How? “Hope Loaf”

We hire homeless people transitioning out of homeless shelters and into their own homes, providing them with valuable work skills and work experience to help them get into the work force. These employees are taught to cook, and transform a loaf of bread into a hearty take out meal. This loaf of bread, previously headed for the landfill, now has value.

HOW IT WORKS

Grocery stores and

restaurants donate

loaves of bread that

would otherwise be thrown

out

And give an opportunity for homeless adults to get valuable work experience

* Our employees use the leftover bread to create tasty take-out meals.

LIKE…

• Our recipes use other donated ingredients that grocery stores and restaurants would otherwise throw away.

Our customers are busy professionals, looking for

healthy, hearty food to feed

their families.

• They buy our packaged, homemade food to keep in their freezer or use for

a quick weekday meal.

The OUTCOME

Helping people, and giving them skills to transform their lives.

PROFIT

Profit is reinvested into organizations that support homeless people transitioning from shelters to their own homes.
