How to Use

to Broadcast a Single

What is Hootsuite?


It is a Social Media

Management tool


It manages a wide range of

social media platforms


including Facebook


Twitter


YouTube


WordPress


And many more


Let’s begin…


Open a browser


Click on the Search bar


Go to www.hootsuite.com


Hootsuite homepage


Create an Account


Click on Sign Up


There are three plans to

choose from


There is for Pro


For Business


And Free


We’ll use the Free Account


Click on

Get Started-Free


Click on Create an account by

email


Fill in the information needed


Type in your Name


Type in your Email


Type in your Password


Click on Looks good, let’s go!


Hover your cursor to the Owl

icon


Click on your

Name


Add Social Media Platform


Click on Add a Social Network


Select a social network you

want to add


Note: For free account,

only 3 social

networks are allowed to add


Let’s first add Twitter


Click on Connect with Twitter


This will pop-out


Type in your username and

password


Click on Authorize app


Twitter Account has been added


Now let’s add Facebook


Click on Connect with Facebook


This will pop-out


Type in your Password


Click on Continue


You can

Edit the info

you provide


Or leave it

“default”

settings by

clicking on

OK


You have the

option to

change the

settings


Or leave it

“default”

settings by

clicking on

OK


You can

Choose what

you allow


Or leave it

“default”

settings by

clicking on

OK


Tick on the

Facebook

Accounts you

want to add


Click on

Add Selected

Accounts


Facebook Account has been

added


Let’s add Instagram


Click on Connect with Instagram


Log in your

Instagram

Account


Click on

Authorize


This will pop-out


Publishing to Instagram

using Hootsuite is different

from other accounts.

Just follow this tutorial and

your good to go.


Click on Setup publishing now


Type in your Mobile number


Click on send Mobile number


A link was sent to you

by Hootsuite. Click the

link and install

Hootsuite on your

mobile device.


Once installed, Click on Next

step


Follow the instructions


On your mobile

device tap on

Settings


Tap on

Notification

settings


Then click on Next step


Follow the instructions


On your mobile

device, turn on

Notifications


Instagram Account has been

added


Create and Schedule a post


On your dashboard, Click on

Publisher


Click on Send to..


Choose or Pin your social

networks to post your content to


Create your post


Click on Attach Media icon to

add photo or video


Click on Choose files to

upload


Click on the file you want to

upload


Click on Open


The Image has been added


You have the option to save

as draft


To Add a location


To change Privacy Option


Or to Schedule a post in

advance


If Schedule in

Advance is

clicked,


Option for Date and Time will

appear


If AutoSchedule is turned On,


This will enable

Hootsuite to post the

message at the best

time where it will be

seen by many


Let’s post what

we’ve already done


Click on Send Now


This will

pop-out for

Instagram

post


Click on

OK, Got it!


You will receive a

notification from

Hootsuite to your

mobile device


Tap on Open in

Instagram


Follow the

Instructions


Tap on

OK, got it!


Tap on Next


Long press on the

caption box


Tap on the caption

we made earlier


Click on Share


It has now been

posted


Setting up Tabs and Streams


Streams are

grouped under

tabs


The dashboard can

host 20 tabs


And each tab can

host up to 10

streams


Click on

Streams


Click on Add Stream


Let’s click on

Twitter


Select and

click the type

of Stream


You may choose

more than 1 stream

for a social media

profile


This is how

the streams

will appear


Add another stream


Click on

your chosen

Stream


This is how it will look like


How to refresh tabs and

streams?


While on publish, click on the

arrow down of tab


Options will

appear.

Choose from

any of these.


Or just click here to manually

refresh


Click on the + icon to add tab


Rename the tab


Add streams

on this tab


You now have 2 tabs on your

dashboard
