College at a glance:Lalgola is a Block under Lalbagh Sub-Division of Murshidabad District,West Bengal. Considering the urge of Higher Education for all-rounddevelopment of the society. Some eminent educationists of thelocality took initiative towards establishment of a degree college atLalgola. Education loving people from all spheres of the societysupported whole heartedly towards foundation of the college. Assuch 'Lalgola College' was established on 26th August, 2005 and thefirst batch of students got admitted themselves in the academic year2006-2007.The College initially started functioning at the premises of M.NAcademy, Lalgola in the morning shift from June 2006, the collegewas shifted to its own building erected inside a campus of 3.12 acresnear Krishnapur Railway Station.

Aim of the Institution:The college aims at upliftment of the people of the surrounding area,particularly the poor and middle classes, through spread of highereducation.

University Affiliation:The college has got permanent affiliation to the University of Kalyaniat the under Graduate level.

UGC Recolnltion :The college is recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC)under Section 2 (f) & 12 (B) of the UGCAct, 1956.The College offers three years Degree course (Honours & General) atthe under Graduate level in various subjects.

Aims & Objectives of the Seminar:The very utterance of the names of Bankim chandra Chatterjee andSwami Vivekananda generates fathomless reverence in our heart.Their influence on different spheres such as Nationalism, Philosophy,Sociology, Education, Literature and greatest of all spitiruality areimmeasurable.This year we earnestly celebrate the 175th Birth Anniversary ofBankimchandra Chatterjee, the famous novelist, essayist andPhilosopher of Bengal and also the 150th Birth Anniversary of SwamiVivekananda, the greatest Indian Spiritualist, Philosopher, Sociologistand writer.The thoughts of Bankimchandra and Vivekananda are very relevant inmodern India. Their educational, ethical, Sociological and also vedan-tic ideas are very enthusiastic to young generation.Bankimchandra and Vivekananda both were Vedantists. Theybelieved in the Parambramhah; everything is the part of devineBrahman, the. Parameshwara, the monistic God. Therefore there is nodiscrimination among people Bankim was influenced by the Gita andthe 'Karva-Karan Tatya' (Theory of causation), Swami Vivekanandaalso believed in 'Jnana Yoga', 'Karma Yoga' Bhaki Yoga' and 'RajaYoga'.In the field of education Bankim's thought was that the proper edu-cation blooms in the perfect man who has 'Jnanarjani, Karyakarani,Chittaranjini' power. These are thirst for education work power andalso the aesthetic sense. Vivekananda uttered 'Education, is the man-ifestation of perfection already in man'. Both were rationalists,Bankim was 'Hitabadi' - influenced by Mill and Bentham andVivekananda's realization was that development of society fullydepends on the helping attitude to others and also in the desire atsacrifice, service, brotherhood- that is 'Shiva-Jnane jibaseba'.Bankim was the famous writer of Bengal. Moreover as an administra-tor he had pure thought - the song 'Vandemataram' was written byBankim Chandra - the essays in 'Vibidha Prabandhya', 'Samya','Krishna Charitra' - the novel 'Ananda Math' were influenced by hissocialist, humanist and Patriotic thought. Vivekananda wrote inBengali 'Bartaman Bharat', Prachya-O-Pashchatyo" "Paribrajak" and'Bhabbar Katha' are very remarkable. Vivekananda said - Our lifeblood is spirituality. If it flows clear, if it flows strong pure vigorous,everything is right, Political Social, any other material defects eventhe poverty of the land will be cured if that blood is pure.Papers are invited on following sub-themes:The seminar will be inter disciplinary in nature, inviting papers fromalmost all the disciplines of humanities & social sciences.Main theme:Bankinchanda Chatterjee and Swami Vivekananda : Their influenceon Literature, Society and Philosophy.Sub-themes:1. The thoughts of Bankim Chandra and Swami Vivekananda are veryrelevant in modern India. Their educatinoal, ethical, socio-Iogicalideas are very enthusiatic to young generation.2. Abstracts should not be more than300 words and full papers not exceeding 3000 words.
